Dale, I follow your instructions and the install went smoothly but Hoster won't open and program will shut down. So, no luck, so I have to go back to v4.06 which is installed properly and working.... I think, i just have to stick with this version 4.06 and live it alone. It is so sad that instead of enjoying, it becomes a nightmare and stressful now. Anyway the other programs i'm using is very promising and working great. I just thank you, Dale for all the efforts and good advice to my situation. I don't want to keep uninstall/install or trying different combination 'cause i might see the message of registration problem. Hope, i can use Hoster again in the future.. but for now i try the other one....

This really doesn't make any sense. If 4.06 will run then 4.08 should, because all the changes/fixes in 4.08 are in the background and no new added features. All it was for is to stablelized Hoster and fix some of the know bugs from 4.06.
When you tried to open 4.08 were you getting any error messages or was it just not doing anything?
You don't say anywhere whether you are running XP or Vista?

You haven't got both 4.06 and 4.08 installed at the same time do you...like in two different locations?

But even if the 1706 error does come up, just click ok NOT cancel & Hoster will finish installing just fine & work.

This main computer now has V4.06 which I cannot upgrade to V4.08. It used to be working before until I have an issue problem with my registration being block by MTU. That was being resolved (registration). And The other computer which is my show (for home use) has v4.08 working and I cannot touch it right now to avoid any problem. Hoster v4.06 and v4.08 is not installed both on one computer . I appreciate your feedback on this issue but don't worry, gentlemen, I am not interested anymore of pursuing to resolve this issue. Probably next time. Like I said, I'm using V3.4 for editing my database and so far, i'm fine.... BTW, I used to be the support for all my friends who is using Hoster for which i recommend. My friends don't have time to see the Forum, so they just call me whenever they have problems. And they follow my advice or opinion either upgarding or buying. Thanks everybody......

It was just that it sounded like that in your previous post. Sorry we couldn't figure it out. When it won't work it frustrates me as well as you. But if you are ok with it for now I am too. We are glad to help when ever we can.

Dale, Don't get me wrong if i gave up on this issue but it already ate a lot of my time. And like i said, i can still use v3.4 and had no complaint about it. I'm just being frustrated cause i had this program for so many years without any problem and then came the multiple upgrades that most of them really don't work. I bought this program to enjoy not to be a part of troubleshooter community. I'm just preparing myself if by any chance one of my friends need my assistance on theirs. So far, everything is fine with me and I've learned to accept it that maybe it's my computer but i cannot change anything 'cause most of my programs are working fine. Maybe someday, I might try moving hoster to another computer.
