Can you tell me again how to lower the recording speed when burning a disk using the MTU burner? I thought I copied the info but I can seem to find it.
Appreciate it.

Hey Vince,
You must be talking about Miicrostudio. This is the Hoster forum. (If you had posted this in the Microstudio forum, somebody may have answered you by now. No big deal.)

In Microstudio the only settings that adjusts the speed of your CD/DVD drive are located in Tools > Default Drives > Select Reading And Writing Drives window. Work with these settings and see if you get the results you are looking for.

I Hoster there is an adjustment for the Import speed in the Import CD Tracks window, but Hoster doesn't burn discs.

I hope this helps.

Jim

Thanks MadJim,
I was talking about Hoster. My partner is having problems with his Hoster software. He is not able to import a new disk that we purchased. I went throught the instruction book and could not find out weather we can import .Zip files? (if we convert the files on the new disk to zip files and then import them into the Hoster program using a flash drive with the .zip files on it. Will the software accept the zip files?

Thanks MadJim

Yes you can import zip files into Hoster.

Is the new disc you purchased a CD+G disc or does it have zipped MP3+G files on it?

If it has zip files on it, copy them from the disc to a folder on your hard drive then use the Import Hard Drive Files window to import them into Hoster.

They are on a Karaoke disk but not in zip files. I have programs that will convert them to zip files right through my flash drive.

Thanks MadJim

If it is a karaoke CD+G disc you'll want to import it through the Import Songs > Import CD tracks window in Hoster. The speed it uses to import the disc can be set using the "Speed" drop down menu at the bottom of the window.

The only thing I know of that will prevent a disc from being imported into Hoster is the Sound Choice Media Clog which they are no longer use.

What disc are you wanting to import into Hoster? In other words, what disc did your partner buy?

Yes, it is a Sound Choice Disk. I converted the tracks to zip files as I mentioned earlier and Hoster accepted them. MadJIm, I appreciate the info and the quick response.

Thanks again,

Vince it sounds like your partner has a drive problem. What error message are you getting when he trys to import?

When he tried to import the files from the disk, the program ran as usual but came right back to where he first started to the start screen. Once I gave him a flash drive with the disk songs converted to zip files on it they were imported within a couple of minuets.

Thanks,

Do you mean it closed the "Import from CD" screen and went back to the main screen?

Vince,
I was under the impression that you used your friends drive to convert the songs to Zip files. (A drive has to read the disc to do anything with the files on it.) Since this is not the case, I think you will find that Dale is correct. The drive is probably bad or starting to fail.

Yes, it came back to the original screen. He tried a couple of times. But it worked fine when he used my flash drive with the converted zip files.

Thanks guys. My partner is in the process of sending his drive in for testing. I will let you know when I find out the results.

Thanks again,
