Slide Show

Could someone please explain to me how to run a "Slide Show" between singers, and before and after my shows? I'm using latest Hoster. I know one forum member Lon does this using pictures he downloads, then makes a slide show using "Windows Move Maker", and plays it back using "Media Player"? And they stop playing when a karaoke song starts, then resume afterwords. Simple please!

Easy, use windows movie maker make a slide show you can use video and photos even add audio, save it as a file, then use that file for one of your insta buttons, when the karaoke sond has finnished just press the insta button and away you go, when you play the next karaoke song it will automaticaly stop playing.

it will automatically save it as a windows movie file all you have to do is give it a name and a location so so can find it when you add it to your inta button.

It saves as a WMV file which you can use in the Instabuttons or as a video import.

Open Windows Movie Maker, set it to point to the folder where the pictures are and add each one individually to the timeline at the bottom. Then you can also add an audio file (WMA, MP3, etc.) once you have the pictures in place you need to set the time for displaying each so they don't flash through so fast you can't see them. You can also set transitions in between as well. When you have it like you want it then save as a WMV file.

I use Movie Maker to make the slide show. Save it as a wmv file & have it playing continuously in repeat mode on Media Player full screen on the singer display so the audience sees it as well. When a song starts, the words automatically come up & display over the slideshow. When the song is stopped, the Hoster display drops & the slideshow reappears until the next song is started.

How do you get WMP to show on the Singer's Screen? Do you just "drag" it over & keep it set on "full screen" for the whole evening? And, then what about the Hoster "intermission" screen - do you have it turned off? Do you ever use Karaoke Videos, and if so, don't they interfere with another video playing in the background?
These are things I tried a long time ago that I couldn't get to work properly or not cause Hoster to crash.
Thanks.

Yes I just run it on full screen on the singers display all the time. No intermission screen on Hoster - turned off. I don't use videos through Hoster, unfortunately none of my laserdisc conversions work.

There is a plug-in for WMP that will play a slideshow of pictures through Visualizations. Set it up in WMP, close WMP, open Hoster set the Audio Display to use visualizations. Anytime you play and Audio song file the slideshow will display.

What a great addition to Hoster!
I'm still running 4.06. I haven't done much since February with my husband in and out of the hospital so many times. To be honest, I'm so far behind that I'm afraid to upgrade to 4.09d.

I am not sure why you would be afraid. The basic show set-up and functions haven't changed. So from that you can spend time at home learning about the other additions and experimenting with them.

Thanks. I was afraid there might be too many changes to deal with all at once. I am back to working 2 nights a week on a regular basis instead of just parties once or twice a month. Trying get back in the swing of things!!!!!!!!

Gerri, we added APPEND PLAYLIST just for you in 4.10 Beta 24... if you have the time to test it. You requested this feature months ago... now it's done.

Lon, I have tried this setup on my Dell and it looks great until the lyric screen goes away after song is done. My Media Player exits full screen.

How do I stop this from happening?
