Cant Import from HD into second Computer?

Hi Guys! HELP!

I setup Hoster 3.19 onto a second computer (being a laptop).

I transfered all the kma files over to a folder on the laptop and Hoster recognises the disc numbers and I can also do a search of songs. Thats all sweet.
I have since bought more songs and want to add them but I cant Import any songs at all.

Is this because Ive setup Hoster onto a second computer?

ANOTHER PROBLEM!
I have also since lost everything on my main computer. It CRASHED!! Do I now make my laptop the primary Hoster computer?

I would appreciate your advice and help please!!

Lance

MTU advises that we do not use 3.19. Go to:

http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster.htm

And download and install 3.321a, it's free. This is the version you should be using.

Since 3.319 installed, you should be able to import songs. Try importing a song off of a CD+G on the playlist using the "Disc" button. If you can't do this, see if there is a driver update for your cd/dvd device.

Since 3.319 installed on your laptop and your other computer crashed, you now have a copy available to install on a different computer. You will have to submit a support ticket to get this done.

I would appreciate your advice and help please!!

I hope this helps.

As Jim said upgrade to 3.321 as 3.318 and 3,319 were bad versions that caused people to lose all of their KMA files. Version 3.321 corrected this along with a few other minor bugs and is still available in the Support Download section.
There is no Primarary/Secondary designation for Hoster or MTU. Both installations are equal and have all the same functions.
You don't say whether you are importing from hard drive or CD.
Is this XP or Vista?

Yes, I am trying to import from my hard drive. I have Win XP as my OS.
All my CDG & Mp3 files are in one folder.

I have tried the same procedure Ive always followed to import all the files that are in Hoster now.

This is my procedure:

1. Open Hoster / Import Tracks / Import hard drive files.
2. Click “MP3G” and the “Choose folder” window opens
3. I click a file, then click “Select” and all the files appear in the “Import MP3G Hard Drive Files” window. I click a file and the “Define Field Order” appears. Ive got all that setup, then I click “Add Files”.
4. The files then appear in the “Track List Window”

Before I can Import them, I have to select a “Brand” name which is directly under the “Define Field Order”. The cursor defaults to the little “Brand” window. But this is where the problems start. There are no Options to choose in the “Brand” window?! Its “BLANK!” and I know there are suppose to be some name options in there?
I’ve even tried typing a name in there and as soon as I hit the “Add Files” button, it crashes EVERYTIME!!

Thanx for your help in advance J

This is a Bucket database problem and usually happens if there are two copies or none.
Check the C:\MTU\Hoster folder and see if there is a Bucket.mdb file in it. Then check C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\databases and see if there is a copy there.
If you have one in the first location and one in the second location delete the one in the second location as it is confusing the program.
If you have none in the first and one in the second then move the file from the second to the first.
If you have none either location, re-install.

If these are indeed kma files you should be able to go to tools, merge kma file, and merge them into your database. kma files have all the brand info ect.

Well, it appears there is no "Bucket.mdb" file in either folders. Actually, there wasnt even a "Database" folder haha hmmmm...that might be the problem!

I will re-install after my gigs this week. Im too scared to try it now incase I cant get it up and running for tomorrow nights gig and the weekends gigs. I'll do it Monday when I've got more days to play with haha. I think that may also be the problem why it wont play my DVD files hmmmm?!

Thank you so much guys, I really do appreciate your feed back, your time and knowledge. You guys are awesome!! A BIG THANK YOU FROM ALL KJ's downUnder here in New Zealand!

Kia Ora "Thanx"

Lance

A database folder is not used anymore. In the C:\MTU\Hoster folder should be Songs.mdb, Songs_Backup.mdb and Bucket.mdb.
Re-installing should put the Bucket back and won't change anything else.
