I wonder why the actual letter is D:\ but Microstudio sees it as the E: drive, which is really the non writeable one. How do I get MS to state the correct letter of the drive so I can write to drive?
have you tried unplugging and replugging your ext. drive back and re-start your pc ? if that doesnt work you might wanna do a search,i read someplace in the forum where you can rename your drive letter..

They're both internal (one is a dvd non-writeable and one is a Plextor CD-R and is writeable). I know how to chnge drive letters for ext. HD's quite easily as I do that all the time.

my bad, i thought it was an ext..sorry..well have you tried uninstalling, it then re-installing the drivers/hadware, when i first bought an ext. plextor 716 and plugged it on my gateway pc , it has two trays cd/and (dvd) which is the burner ( my first comp. ) my int. dvd drive stopped responding, had to uninstall and re-install and i dont remember having the drive letter changed, but anyway i got it to work..that was then, i dont use my gateway pc anymore other than going on line..
