Help...WAV/CDG Format

Couple of questions I need help with. Can you NOT pull a CDG disk into the VOGONE feature to remove Multiplex vocals? I tried pulling one in the remove the guide vocals because the instrumental side (SCpowerpick) is messed up but it wouldn't let me pull it in remove the vocals and save it. Another problem I'm having is...in the "Assemble Custom CD" feature, can you not mix Wav file Tracks and CDG Tracks on one custom CD? I have to do this sometimes if I make a disk for a school play or such where they need the original to listen to learn to sing the karaoke. But evertime you Check either the WAV icon or the karaoke Icon, you become unable to click the other. For example...if you're doing a custom disk and click the Karaoke Icon, search and find a CDG and then want to go back and find a WAV track, you're not allowed to go back and do it...the WAV and Karaoke Icon can no longer be clicked...someone knows what I mean...help!!!

I don't believe you'd be very successful removing guide vocals from a cdg even if it were possible to process it with Vogone. I say that because most guide vocals are not "center panned" which a recording needs to be to be successful with vocal removal. Most guide vocals are recorded on the right channel only.

Take care,
George

Okay, well if that's the case, it would explain why you can't pull CDG's into the vogone. There's no need to. What about the thing with being able to burn a custom CD with both CDG and Regular WAV files on it. Is there a way to do that that I'm missing?

Found your problem of mixing CDG and .WAV files to a cd to be an interesting one, and there is a way if you also have Karaoke Home Producer. Do not select either a title or graphics page. Do not select "import lyrics". Do select "add music". Select the .WAV file from your songlist. Without doing anything else select "write cdg file". Name the song and file location as usual and it gets saved as a cdg, only there are no lyrics. When played back in Microstudio it plays fine and there's a blank screen. Now you can go to "custom assembly" and mix it in with cdg's because it now has a .cdg file extension if you don't mind having a blank screen while playing it, but the screen would be blank anyway, wouldn't it?
Thanks, you gave me an opportunity to teach myself something today

George

For that matter you could use the title screen and have the title of the song show for a few seconds if you so desired.

Okay, I'll give it a try. It's a little tedious, I guess. But if it keeps me from having to burn 2 disks, it's worth the effort. LOL. Thanks again and I appreciate it, George.

It's really quite a quick process. Just looks like a bear in print
