Video problems In Hoster 4.5

Can't Play mpeg Video in Hoster but play good in wmp.

I have Ver. 4.5 Xp os 4 gigs Mem 2.6 Duo Pros. 250 gig 7200 Rpm Drv.

It plays Video in Instabutton but no sound, and still errors out and needs to shut down.

It plays sound on Video button but no video, and still errors out and needs to shut down.

I keep getting this message

AppName: hoster.exe AppVer: 4.0.5.0 ModName: quartz.dll
ModVer: 6.5.2600.5596 Offset: 0002efc5

What does this mean and how can I fix it?

Thank you

Joe....

My guess would be something is wrong with that video. Also upgrade to 4.06 and get away from that one with its sync problems.

Hi ddouglass

Well it happens to all my files in Hoster but not in WMP?

Then how do you explain this error message after any mpg play?

AppName: hoster.exe AppVer: 4.0.5.0 ModName: quartz.dll
ModVer: 6.5.2600.5596 Offset: 0002efc5

Is This something that has a fix?

I'm not having a sync problem in Hoster 4.5 right now.

I'll wait and see if problems develop with 4.6 before I upgrade.

Thx for you're Help

I don't know Joe. That DLL is not part of Hoster so it has something to do with the Videos obviously. Quartz.dll is a library with functions for DirectShow, a part of DirectX. So maybe you need to check your DirectX and make sure it is correctly installed.
If you run the Belarc Advisor it may tell you where the problem is. If need be you can download a free copy of the DLL file here:
