Illegal Dealer That Moved To Mexico
I have two problems, #1, I was having the sweeping problem and I was upgrading .net frame from 1.1 to the 3.0 every one said would help solve the problem As I was going though the steps to go from 1.1 to 2.0 then I was going go jump to 3.0.
Then problem #2 showed up, I got this message that comes up saying the “Serial Number Doesn't Match the Registration” as well. This a new installation by the way, not even one day old. I needed to back it off of that laptop anyway because the hard drive in the one I put it on is acting up but I wanted to uninstall it properly so I could put Hoster Lite on a different laptop computer with a better hard drive, does any one have any suggestions. I am running XP Pro. David J |

Re-install it on that machine, (the serial number mismatch is usually fixed that way). Uninstall it while connected to the Internet (this is if you are using 3.21 or 4.0?) then install it on the new computer. If you are using an older version then you may have to submit a Support Email to have MTU reset your registration before yuo can move it to the new computer.
The reason you got the mismatch could well be caused by your hard drive problem. The registration information may have been corrupted by the failing drive.

I did as you said
I did just what you told me and for what ever reason during this process, it triggered something at MTU and they disabled the registration so I submitted a trouble ticket, I hope we can get this resolved by tomorrow I have an event for the elementary kids on Tuesday morning. thanks for your help. I guess it has something to do with Hoster Lite only suppose to run on one computer, and that was All I was doing and their records should show that it was not trying to be installed on anthing else. Just updating .net framework from 1.1 to 3.0 was all

Question, I May Have Caused the Problem
Were you supose to uninstall to orginal version before I tried to reinstall is that what caused the system to disable the code because I just tried to update instead of removing and reinstalling and now it may be to late. I don't know do you have or any input on that.

Also, if you are re-installing 4.0x, you need to un-install while on-line so that MTU can re-set the Registration if needed to install on a different computer. It is explained in more detail in the Manual. If you can print out that page, then you will have the step-by-step instructions in front of you. This has helped me in the past. ![]()

Since the error message you got was a mismatched code, then no installing .net Framework did not cause this. Since you are having problems with the hard drive I would suspect that caused the mismatch. As far as MTU getting it reset that quickly I would doubt they do. They don't work on weekends and have not been able to keep up with the tickets that quickly.

I just bought ver 4.5 Friday
This is ver 4.5 it installed perfectly it went south on me when the hard drive started acting up & when I was upgrading from ver 1.1 .net framework to 3.0 so one of the two caused it to give me the message that the license doesn't match the serial number. No I bought the 98.00 dollar full version of the lite program. the only reason an upgrade was mentioned was because when I started to reinstall it it ask if I wanted to remove or upgrade so I chose up grade, and I used the file they sent when I bought the program. I assumed it ask about the upgrade because it say the the program was in fact installed on my computer.

I tried to uninstall it on line
I tried to uninstall it on line but I still get the message that the registration is still disabled, so I guess I will have to wait for them to respond to the trouble ticket I submitted.
This never fails when you need it so badly, to accomplish something good for the kids. David J |

And of course
Now that it didn't let me install the new version I now have no manual to read either.

Thanks, the problem now is on the server at MTU
Its not that it won't install, its the message I get from MTU, they have disabled the registration in North Carolina, and until someone does something there its dead in the water. But thanks anyway.
Its hard enough for the kids to sing while the words are sweeping, but compound that with them not sweeping properly was why I was doing the .net framework update in the first place, because it was working fine as far as the program itself goes it was just that sweeping problem. David J |

David the original message you got that the registration number was a mismatch could not be caused by .net Framework. The only thing that can cause this is the file where that information is stored was corrupted by loss of data in that spot on the hard drive. Since you stated that you have been having trouble with the hard drive I believe that is the cause of your original problem.
When you try to install it is the message you get back from MTU that it is already installed on 1 computer or that your registry code is locked or disabled? What Skybird is trying to say is do a System Restore (Windows function) to a date/time prior to all of this happening. It may or may not work but is worth a try. And actually if you are going to update .net Framework from 1.1 up to 3.0 then you also needed to install 2.0 also. They are all inter-related and only update or add some of the features.

So will system restore help this
The reason I didn't think that it would help is because, it says that your registry code is locked or disabled! Isn't that a problem that can only be resolved at the MTU Level?
As far as the .net framework upgrade went, I upgraded to 2.0 first then made sure all of the service paks were updated then I upgraded to 3.0 and then made sure all of the service packs were installed. David J |

GO TO Start/Programs/Accessories/Sytem Tools/system restore - you will get instructions on how to Restore your computer to a time when everything was working right. You will get a Calendar & you can pick a date before the problems started, like before you installed Hoster, or the upgrade. YOU pick the date. This program will then put everything back to the way it was before any of this happened. PLEASE TRY THIS. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE. It doesn't take that much time & IT MIGHT WORK. This has nothing to do with MTU. It will not affect any files or folders that are stored in "My Documents".

We disabled your RegCode to get your attention. We will now re-enable it. You know how you stole from MTU as a Dealer, and left your customers unsupported, moving to Mexico. ![]() MTU is now having to clean up behind you and support your prior customers. Don't ever order any more MTU product again. We will disable your RegCodes and never re-enable them. I trust that is clear enough! |
