Best bet is to get it straight from Microsoft. Then you know you have the right one.

Lyric Problem 4.5 Kudos To James Murray !!
Quote:
I have been dealing with this same problem with the lyrics not catching up for 5 days now, and almost ran out of ideas before reading this thread. Changing from Windows Aero to Windows Basic Solved it all.. Tested about 20 songs so far and its perfect. Thanks a Lot James! |

I stand Corrected..
Well my previous post i put that changing from aero to basic in Vista fixed the lagging lyrics, and i tested and tested and it seemed to work, but low and behold when i started my show tonite it was still there
It partly fixed the problem, but when a new page of lyrics loaded up, it lagged behind. As long as it was a slow song it eventually caught up, but still was a problem. Tech support said 4.06 has this problem fixed, but i have some owners pretty upset with me, wondering if i should go to a previous version or if i can even download a previous one Or can tech support put some light into this issue or if 4.06 is gonna have this fixed. Any help would be great |

Click and drag your singers display to not quite full screen. Set your graphics at a lower level by changing resolution, or going from 32bit to 16bit graphics. |

MTU is shooting for early next week to get 4.06 out. They are working on a few other minor bugs this week, so should not be delayed unless something really bad comes up. As far as downloading a previous version, it isn't available. That is why you should save those downloads. Do a search with Windows Explorer for Hoster403steup.exe and see if you have it on your hard drive somewhere and just not realizing it is there. If not then you will have to stick with this one until 4.06 comes out. You can always switch and use 3.4 since it is still included.

Lyrics Lagging Still
Quote:
This is some good advice... And I feel completely like my hands are tied because i am so used to working with windows XP and know that program like the back of my hands that this Vista stuff is frustrating me beyond belief. When i was at home testing before the show I had zero problems with the lyrics, i did not however have everything hooked up.. heres how I set up my laptop I Use a PC to TV VGA adapter for my video output, and right click on my desktop to personalize and on my display settings i click on to extend my desktop. I then have just double clicked on the "floating" display window and it automatically went to my extended monitor which was the VGA output. The only other thing i have running is Virtual DJ to play songs between singers, but i do not use any video output with that or anything and one of my other DJS has used the system like that for years on VISTA with no problems, however he has an older version of Hoster. Funny thing is that when i go into my display settings, all I have for an option is 32 bit graphics. What else do you think could be putting such a load on the video card that makes that happen i could rectify and why would I not hav ethe 16 bit graphics option? |

Narrowed it Down
Well I have it narrowed down. It does happen when I have my second monitor loaded up. What does this mean?

0k tried all this,on blue unit below and lyrics still not right. Anymore suggestions
NOTE: These are changes that you MUST make to your Windows Vista computer. Only certain versions of Windows Vista will have Aero. If you do not make these changes, your Graphics will be out of sync with the audio under Hoster 4.0x. If you do not make these changes you will have problems. This is ONLY for Vista. TURN OFF THE WINDOWS SIDEBAR 1) Let click the Start Menu, Left click on All Programs 2) Left click on Windows sidebar now it will show up on the right side of your computer Desktop 3) Now Right click on the Widows Sidebar, Left click Properties uncheck the Start Sidebar when Windows starts checkbox 4) Restart computer TURN OFF AERO 1) Right click on the desktop (where there is no icons) and Left Click Personalize 2) Double left click Window Color and Appearance and uncheck Enable transparency 3) Open the classic appearance properties and choose either “Windows Vista Basic”, “Windows Standard” or “Windows Classic” 4) Restart computer TURN OFF Visual Effects 1) Left click the Start Menu 2) Left click Control Panel 3) Left click Classic View on the left hand side 4) Left double click on System 5) On the left hand side, left click Advanced system settings 6) When the Dialog comes up stating that Windows needs your Permission to continue click Continue 7) Left click the Advanced Tab 8) Left click the Settings button under the “Performance” area 9) Left click Adjust for best performance in the “Visual Effects” tab 10) Scroll the very last item on the List, and put a check beside Use visual styles on windows and buttons 11) Click Apply and Ok. 12) Restart computer SET WMP SPEED and TURN OFF VIDEO ACCELERATION 1) Left click the Start Menu, left click on Windows Media Player 2) Right click the menu bar (easy to click to the left of Now Playing) 3) Left click Tools then Options… Go to the “Performance” Tab and select Choose connection speed: set it to LAN (10 Mbps or more) 4) On this Tab UN-Check the Turn on DirectX Video Acceleration for WMV Files 5) Close Windows Media Player ALLOW WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER To PLAY LOCAL FILES 1) Open Internet Explorer 2) Left click on the Tools Menu on the far Right Side and then Left click Internet Options 3) Left click Advanced tab 4) Scroll down to the Security section and CHECK Allow active content to run in files on My Computer and Allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer 5) Restart computer. CHECK YOU DISPLAY RESOLUTION 1) Right click on the desktop (where there is no icons) and Left Click Personalize 2) Double left click Display Settings 3) Make sure that your Resolution is set correctly for Monitor 1. It will depend on your computer as to what this should be at, but it MUST be higher than 800x600. Also make sure that your colors are set at 16 bit instead of 32 bit. 4) Left click Monitor 2 one time. This will now select this monitor, it also must have a resolution of above 800x600 or your colors will not be correct. If it is not, then move the slider until you get it correct. 5) Left click on Apply and then click Ok to close the dialog. Now you will have your new settings saved.

Read Marklwood's post above yours. If you are double clicking to get display to TV this is causing a lot of sync problems in Vista. Drag it and resize it to be as near to full as you can.

Ok, I did that, set my primary monitor to 16 bit, did those tweaks above your post in VISTA and it seems to actually be working. Remembered to actually test it on two monitors this time too.... God I hope this solves the problem.. Thanks everyone for your help! |

(Vista) Having the same problem as everyone else with the out of sync thing I have done everything it says to do, except drag my singers display to the TV. For the life of me I can't figure out how you drag it to the TV, maybe I am not seeing something here, but I have no TV on my screen to drag it to. What am I doing wrong.

Hey Bonnie,
Go to Tool> Show Display> Intermission and click on the box that says Always on. This will keep the show display visable when a song isn't playing. You should be able to click and drag it to the TV. Jim ![]()

(Vista) Forgot to mention that I have been using 4.03 without any problems until I made all the adjustments in my computer for 4.05, I had to go back to 3.4 to run my show Sat. nite, cuz the lyrics got out of sync, and had never before.

Bonnie,
Go back to 4.03. 4.06 will be out soon. I don't use Vista but it looks like they got the "vista/out of sync" issue fixed (in 4.06). ![]() ![]() Jim ![]()
