Am I able to rearrange the Disc #s
Hi everyone.
When I first ripped my karaoke discs onto my hard drive, I put them all into their respective Disc folders. Eg Disc 1 into Disc 1 folder , Disc 2 into Disc 2 folder etc etc. Ive just started importing CDG+mp3 files into Hoster. What I have done is import the discs in their respective Disc number. But what has happened is the numbers dont run sequentially. It started out from 01, 02 ,03 etc then all of a sudden, it just went in any order. So now when I go to the disc #, (Under Brand), to look for a song that someone has put up with just the 'disc' number, the numbers are all mixed up. I eventually find the Disc # but man it would be so much easier if they were in order. Am I able to put those numbers in order??? Cheers ![]() |

don't understand why you have to put them in diff. folders.you ( in my opinion ) should just put them in one folder..when you do searched for a song ( brand, disc#) i think when you found what youre looking for you can click on the disc tab and i think they will go in order.. |

![]() Hi Guys,
yes I've given every CD a number. Before I bought Hoster, I used CD's to run karaoke shows. My books were all done with CD numbers. Eg 500 cd's. Every song corresponded to its particular CD. So, when I started ripping the Cd's to my HD, I kept them in their respective folders. Only because my books were already done and still the same at present. Now when I "Imported" them into Hoster, I just gave CD 1 the number "01", CD 2 the number "02" etc etc So on Hoster they look like this: Brand: Custom Assembly Disc#: 01 Track#: 01 Brand: Custom Assembly Disc#: 02 Track#: 01 Brand: Custom Assembly Disc#: 03 Track#: 01 Brand: Custom Assembly Disc#: 04 Track#: 01 Brand: Custom Assembly Disc#: 05 Track#: 01 When people come up with their songs, 99% of the time I use the "Disc#" function. I'll only use the "Search" function if they havent written down the Disc#. But because the numbers are all mixed up, it takes a bit longer finding the right number. So, am I able to rewrite or put those numbers in numerical order as I've shown below??? Disc# 01 Disc# 02 Disc# 03 Disc# 04 Disc# 05 ! ! Disc# 498 Disc# 499 Disc# 500 I hope I've explained it properly? Thank you for your feedback ![]() |

after you do a search, click the "Brand" column in the search window it will put them in order. I am assuming you inputed the title and artist in Hoster when you loaded the files.

Where are you looking that they are out of order? Search or the dropdown BookID on the main page?
What I did when we converted over to Hoster was to import them in the order they were in my books. Ours were numbered the same way as yours. By importing them in the same order then the new BookIDs corresponded correctly to our books. I think your sort problem is because you only used 2 digits for the first 99 (ie. 01, 02, 03,...) which combined in the list with 3 digit numbers (ie. 100, 101, 102,...) will not sort correctly. This is a common problem with Microsoft's sorter. If you were to delete those first 99 from Hoster, rename the folders with 001, etc. then that should fix it.

Hi ddouglass,
Your Quote: "Where are you looking that they are out of order? Search or the dropdown BookID on the main page?" Firstly, how do you guys get quotes inside a box like you's do? haha In answer to your quote, yes its on the main page but its in the "dropdown Disc#" between "Brand & Track#. You have to click the "Brand" button beside "BookID" button to see: " Brand: Disc#: Track#: Yes you're correct about importing 2 digit numbers. As soon as I got to the 2 digits, it started saving them after the biggest 3 digit number being 250th disc. But what started happening was when I imported from the number 25 downwards, it added a "0" after the 25 as soon as I clicked the "Next" button, just before you click "Import". When I clicked "Import", it saved it as "Disc# 250" and wiped out my songs on the disc# "250" and replaced it with the songs from the 25 disc??! Go figure??!! I didnt notice what was happening (coz I was on a roll haha) When I finally finished, I went to check and "AGH!!!!" So I had to re-import them all again and saw where it was adding a "0" so just deleted the "0". It did save them as 2 digit numbers but for some reason, saved it right before its look-a-like number ie: 25 beside 250, 24 beside 240, 23 beside 230 etc etc Once I re-imported those 2 digit discs, I had to re-import the corresponding 3 digit discs again agh!! grrr anyway, got it all done, but now of course all the numbers are all mixed up!! I think the reason is because of what you said being only 2 digits. But it does save them as two digits as long as you delete the "0" I think I will re-import them as 3 digit numbers with a "0" in front. I did think about it when I got to the 2 digit numbers but wasnt sure if it would Import a number with a "0" in front?? I shouldv just tried it once haha QUESTION QUESTION QUESTION My next question then is : HOW DO I DELETE THOSE DISC#?????? I really do appreciate your help ![]() Thank you ![]() |

OK go to Tools, Edit Songs, Select Mutiple button. Then search by disc. number highlight all the tracks you want to delete then press the delete button then yes your done. As for your track number problem Hoster has a two digit limitation for track numbers. I also found while importing my scdg disc. that Hoster track number wont work if you put a zero in front of it Like 01, 02, 03 that's been my experience. I don't know when this limitation in Hoster is going to be fixed. Joe... |

There are two ways to get quotes like we use. Simplest way is to click the Quote button in lower right corner of a post.
The second is to highlight the text you want to quote, copy it and paste it into a new reply. Then highlight it again and click the last icon on second row up top on the reply box. This puts the highlighted text in a quote box but does not identify the source.
