Yes, it converts your HDZIP files to HDMP3G files. If you have alot of HDZIP files it takes awhile.

Just let the process run Billy, it has to know you don't have any HDZIPS. With no HDZIPS the process won't take long.

There are different types of zip files, this is why MTU is getting out of the zip business. There is no standard. The most common is MP3+G Zip which does not need to be in a zip file to play so MTU is doing away with them (zip files) in Hoster.

Do they play in the 4.05 playlist? I would think not but I don't have any, they've all been converted.

Did the database rebuild automaticlly the first time you opened Hoster 4? If not try rebuilding your databse and restarting Hoster 4.

Bryant, use regedit and change (modify) the following setting:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Default\HDZipFiles Converted. Right click on it and choose Modify. Change Value Data to 0. This will reset the conversion to run again.

Jim or Dale, I agree thjat is good to know, I want to ask you two if there is a way to 'tag' the post with this info that is of great use so as to find them later if I need to recall them? This forum is getting pretty big and Its is sometimes hard to find something you recalled reading. (that didn't sound right but I thing you know what I mean)

I started a new thread and copied Dales post. Maybe we can get Admin to put a sticky on it. This will be worth it's own sticky thread in 6 months when we all forget where it was.

Hi JNS02

A quick way to do it is to add it to your brewser, add favorites and make a folder name it then save it.

I do what Joe does. If you just want to add a single post to your favorites, click on the post number in the top right hand corrner. This will open the post in a seperate window then add that page to your favorites.

What a NEAT TRICK!!! Wish I'd know this sooner. There are several posts I've wanted to go back & review, so I've been saving the e-mails to help remind me. This is soooooooo much better

The playlist still indicates HDZIP, and they all play too.

That's cool! If you bought Hoster 4 new and imported all of your songs, you would have no HDZIP files (but it's good to know HDZIP files play in 4.05. ), they would be converted to HDMP3G files. Being this is the case, I would advise that you do the conversion anyway.

Jim

Because i was having earlier problems on the test machine, I had to import with 3.4, and attempt to play with 4.04 betas, etc. I think that's why I still have hdzips in there w/o the coverter showing up, because I'm sure at one time I did attempt to convert and the registry got set for me, then afterwards i brought some more in with 3.4.

My test machine had a lot of database issues that scared the heck out of me, therefore, my wife's shuttle still contains the hdzips.
