Hey Ray,
You did the right thing by going back to 4.03.

The first thing that came to my mind when I read your post was "this sounds like a video card driver issue". In your case it may not be true since 4.03 works so well.

I hope this helps in some way.

Jim

Hi Gators66

When you download any MTU products you should always use the "save as" option not the "Run" option then you can choose where to save the file. Hoster 4.04 would not overwrite 4.03 unless you change the file names when you download. If you did choose the "Save as" option and did not change file name and you can not remember where you saved to, go to windows search. and search for "hoster" it should find all your Hoster downloads. Set it to search hidden folders as well.

Hope this helps you.

Yeah.... what A weekend. I found 4.03(thank the lord) and everything is beck to normal. The only real problem with 4.04 and vista that I see is video-related.

Hey Gators66,
I'm sorry 4.04 didn't work for you but you did the right thing by going back to 4.03 for now.

Running videos consitantly in vista using Hoster 4 has been an issue from day one. The amout of hours MTU has spent researching vista/video related issues is staggering. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. The problem is, everytime we get close to it, vista moves it further away.

Thanks again for letting me vent and I pray you don't have another weekend like this past one.

Jim

You bet. Whenever a new version come out, get a copy or install the demo and make sure it runs on your system. I run a four hour mock show on my show machine with every release before I take it to a gig. And of course, keep 4.03 close at hand since it works well on your system.

reply about hoster and vista

Most of us use HOSTER on a dedicated laptop and if you can have it changed to xp home or pro do so. hoster has problems with vista and will keep having problems with hoster so why all this talk about vista just dump it or use older version of hoster that did work for you. vista ,vista, vista crappppppppppppppppppp at least for now xp started the same way was crap till sp2 as for me i was happy with Dos or Cpm programs till windows and the mac turned me around windows does so mutch we dont see.
SO unless you can work on you own machines operating system or at least install it.get an xp program from one of your older machines you bought and install on your new one if you cant install find someone who can.JMHO
