![]() Laddie, I to am one of the people that always seems to have problems when new versions of Hoster comes out ever since we went past the 3.4 version and/or Vista came out. Here is my 2 cents worth. Many of the people on these forums have helped me out numerous times and I DON"T want them to stop giving me advise but many times they are quick to try and blame our problems on our computers, you will constantly be told your video cards need new drivers, your hard drive sounds like it is going bad etc and this may be true but I have been using Hoster for a very long time and have fround from past experience that my computer has never been the issue (I also have the newest compuetrs with the most power and ram available). My problems have ALWAYS been with the Hoster upgrages and the problems have ALWAYS been solved eventually by MTU. I have numerous issues myself with 4.04. 4.03 worked good for me and 4.01 was a disaster. My answer right now is if you have a version that does work for you go back to that until the bugs are worked out of the version you are using. Don't get frantic thinking your computer is to blame or your hard drive is going out. Just hang in there. MTU will eventually fix the problems.
MY ONE WISH-quite adding features that are nice but you really don't need to run a show. All I want is a rock solid program that does not crash and plays the songs when they are suppose to. The more things they add that we really don't need is just more code that can interfer with the program. |

We are always working on issues that are reported by customers. We have not seen any bugs yet, to be fixed under Hoster 4.004. We are still awaiting to see any problems show with this version, so we can work on it.

laddie,
I am also having the same exact problems you are having. 3.4 seems to work the best for me, however when reverting back to 3.4 from 4.04 after having all the audio drops, 3.4 came up great, only it came up with the previous rotation of songs that had already been sung, and none of the songs in the current rotaion. Needless to say, I had a lot of people walk out on me Saturday night. When I opened Task Manager, I noticed I was using between 5-36% and then all of a sudden it would slam 100%. I also noticed that there are about 50 different proccess running and I dont know which ones I can turn off if any. I said before that I was just going to use 3.4 for a while, but I just had to see if 4.04 would work. Maybe next time.

Scott, from everything I've read, audio dropouts may be linked to WMP. Did you upgrade it to WMP11 before installing 4.04?

In our attempt to solve the "out of sync" problems that appeared in 4.0x, without MY knowledge, one of our programmers disabled the Playlist auto-updating during a show. Well, with the Show Display always running now, that turns out to NEVER update the Playlist. ![]() ![]() As President, I mandated we immediately (4.06) restore updating the Playlist with EVERY CHANGE... PERIOD! This is one feature I will NOT sacrifice to try to "fix sync". There are other causes, and this is not the culprit. ![]() |

MTU takes note of every post that made on this forum. They are so busy that they do not have the time to respond to every post but they do see them and react accordingly. MTU is always alerted to any issue on the forum, we just don''t see it. Thanks for participating! Jim ![]()

Hey Laddie, Beta 7 was released as planned. MTU has gone through Microsoft's Programer's Database (the one they pay anually for) and found every available piece of information on running video in Vista and still can not get it to behave right. To accomodate this, once again they are having to go back to old stable MTU code. Videos will run in Vista but with some restrictions (thanks for connecting Bill!) 1. There will be nothing on the preview screen while a video is playing. 2. On the TV the lyrics will show with no Singer Name Display and no Marquee. It is their only option and will be added Monday. Just trying to help. Jim ![]()

Laddie,
The beta testers found some small bugs in 4.04 beta 8 that are being addressed in beta 9, which will be out tonight. If it passes, it will be released tomorrow I'm sure. As a beta tester I am concerned that we don't let an inferior version of Hoster get released, ever. This does nothing but cause bigger problems for eveyone. ![]() Thank you for being patient. ![]() Jim ![]()

It seems that way! MTU can't release 4.04 until it is solid. We are very close, it won't be long Laddie. I promise you, we are all working hard at it.

Let me give you an example of why 4.04's release is taking longer than expected. Since I posted this MTU has put the old player in 4.04 then they took it back out because one of the Vista testers had success that they did not expect. Microsoft can't tell them how to make Vista behave, they have to stummble upon these successes. Shame on Microsoft. ![]() ![]() I know this doesn't get you Hoster 4.04 any faster but at least you are in the loop. ![]() Jim ![]()
