I have always kept all of my KMA files in one folder so I have never merged a database. There are other folks who have done this that know more about it than me. ![]() ![]() ![]() Open Office is a program like any other program. After you install it and use it for what you want, uninstall it if you don't like it. In your case it would be a good thing to have because Microsoft Office is so expensive. ![]() ![]() Jim ![]()

I'm not afraid of the program, I just don't want to waste my time installing a bunch of programs I have no other use for, just to locate 8 files listed in Access format. I don't believe that program will help me sort through the 1800 duplicate IDs either. |

Not true Sky.
![]() ![]() If I'm in a hurry a double will get through every now and then. I just make a note when I find one and remove it from all machines and back-up drives the next time the show machine is on the bench. It's a little work but I never have to "Merge". ![]() Jim ![]()

![]() Laddie, thanks for finding this program.
Jim, nice way to make it easy for everyone! This program is MORE THAN I COULD HAVE HOPED FOR!!!!!!! Everything is there all in one place, like magic!!!!!!! It can be exported in .csv format, which can be read by Microsoft Works Database, which is already included with most computers, or Excel if you have it. From there it can even be printed. Of course, you know I'd have a question - if you put the files in order by DiskID, a column is added entitled "Record ID", in addition to "Book ID". Is this possibly the order in which they were entered? If so, maybe now I can find those annoying Error 3315 files ![]() |

All of the columns are there, but off screen, so you have to move the screen view to get to see them. Sort by RecordID so they will be in exactly the order Hoster rebuilds the database. Look for the first erroring record number. You shouldn't find it because it errored, but you should find the number before and after it. Then the two rows look back for the DiskID and track numbers above and below that track. That will tell you which track needs to be re-imported.

![]() NOPE! All 8 record numbers that appeared with the Error 3315 are all there and the songs play fine.
In fact, the database says there are 8 MORE songs than the songbook shows. ![]() The song book says it created 10,751 entries. The database says there are 10,759. And.... it's not the song (record number) before or after the number it errored on, either. Last edited by Skybird74; August 26th, 2008 at 11:12 PM. Reason: Addition |
