Dale, I downloaded Vidio Hoster again and the same thing happened .....the lower filter is back. I have removed it again. Now when I try to import a disk through my Plextor E drive, I select CD+G and it loops around and locks up. I have read the manual and don't understand how to bring this Billboard karaoke CD+G disk into the trial version of Hoster. I would appreciate any help you may give me.

Dale, I have a double marquee and am allowed 1-2 clicks before the program locks up and I have to cntrl-alt-delete to get it to close. Any ideas?

Double Marquee sounds like Video settings or driver.
Do you have all the Custom Upgrades from Microsoft? SP3?

Similar problem...cd drive not showing in Hoster
I'm having a similar problem, but ONLY IN HOSTER does my cd drive not show up...all other programs access cd drive without problem. I've disabled autoplay, removed upper and lower filters, tried having upper and lower filters with no data in them, uninstalling and reinstalling Hoster. Problem arose, I believe, when I updated to 3.21a...something. Tech support has been helpful, even got them on the phone a number of times, but we still can't locate the problem.
Changes on computer since Hoster was able to access the cd drive has been the installation of itunes (since removed), removal of emusic, and removal of rhapsody. In Hoster, there are no drives listed (it says NONE). I can type the cd drive in the window, but it reverts back to NONE when anything is clicked. Shame, as I've about 20 new cdg discs to install, hoping to use them for show Saturday (two days away)... |

Check out my first post concerning Hoster changing drives......actually it was saying that I didn't have one installed. I posted the step by step fix and it works. Everytime I download Hoster on another machine, it does it. If you can't get it to work, let me know.

What kind of drive? (Brand, Model, etc)
Laptop or desktop computer? What operating system? (XP or Vista) Check registry for entries for the programs you un-installed? Also check the Start/Startup for any entries for those programs.

Dale,
I had the problem on 2 machines using the Plextor external drive. On the laptop it hid my D drive and the E Plextor. On the office machine, it hid my onboard D and E drive and the F Plextor. The Plextor is working now that I have upgraded the video driver. The Plextor has never been a problem. My office machine is a Dell Dimension 4300 series and the laptop is a Compaq Presario. Both have XP. I have installed/uninstalled Hoster several times on the laptop because I was having problems which later turned out to be video. Everytime I re-installed, something installed the low filter again. Even on the initial download on the Dell, it did the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I have got the program working and intend to purchase it in the next couple of days. Seems to be a very strong program w/lots of great features. I would still be at mile one if it hadn't been for madjim dropping the video driver idea on me. |
