Hoster 4.2 file Coversion won't Play My Files

What's Going On?

After Hoster 4.2 file conversion 50% of my files error out in my playlist.
I research for the file add it to play list and till errors Out.

I had no problems with Hoster 4.1 on the same song files 12000 Plus why is this happening?

What can I do to Fix this Quickly I have a Gig tomorrow night and the
Week end.

Please Help me
Joe....

PS
Can I install Hoster 4.1 over 4.2.
Do I delete songs folder and replace it with my backUp.

4.02's file conversion is to convert HDzip type KMA files to HDMP3 (unzipped). Hoster 4.02 and beyond will not play Zip files. When you import them they will be automatically unzipped and added as HDMP3 type. The reason you didn't have any problem in 4.01 is because it did not have this. The decision made was to eliminate Zip files from Hoster because they are continually causing problems and will cause more in the future as they add cross-fading and other items.

Did you let the conversion run or did you stop it?
What type of file is listed to the far right on the playlist? (HD???)

Yes you should be able to install 4.01 back over 4.02. Try the ones existing in the folder and if they don't work delete all the files in the songs folder and copy in your back-up of them.

Did you let the conversion run? Were there any errors when it ran?

1) Yes I checked the backup box and let the program complete.

2) No I didn't see any error message.

3) What course of action do I take to resolve the HDMP3G error issue.

4) Why am I having a problem with the same files in 4.2 that had no problem in Hoster 4.1?

Then they should have converted (unzipped) ok.

For now and to do your show tonight install version 4.01. Try one of the existing (converted) files and see if they work in 4.01. If not replace them with your backup copy and do your show.

Because 4.01 would play them as they were (zip files) but 4.02 converted (unzipped) all those files back to MP3+G. That is the difference. Obviously for some reason the conversion didn't work right and that is what will need to be figured out.

What exactly are you seeing when a file errors out trying to play it?

Have you tried playing one of them through Microstudio to see if it will play?

Yes. 3.40 IS a copy of 3.321 that runs using 4.X's data. It runs in Vista as well.

Jim
So Jim, are you saying for sure that 3.4 will play all misconverted and correctly converted HDmp3g files AND those "bad zip files" that did not get converted? I think they (we) all need to know this for assurance.

When Hoster coverted my zip files to HDMP3G file I did not get any "Bad Zip File" errors so I don't have any "Bad ZIp Files" to try, sorry.

OH , off the subject I finally found a driver that works with my Nvidia card, Had to go back to version 91.47. I contactred Nvidia with this info and they had me run a free clean-up program and reinstall their latest driver with no success. They even gave me a beta to try with no luck.

They baciaslly told me to keep using 91.47 and to TRY the new drivers as they come out, NO HELP AT ALL, I'M RIGHT WHERE I STARTED BEFORE I CONTACTED SUPPORT AND SPENT ANOTHER HALF A DAY DICKING WITH NVIDIA DRIVERS.

I'M THROUGH WITH NVIDIA! NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY THEIR PRODUCTS.

Sorry, just venting.

Jim

Jim,
I have learned to dislike Nvidea, as I know after my DJ program went to video mixing (similar to what we are doing here now), nVidea was the card that wasn't recommended, the top of the line ATI cards became the best choice. I have a top of the line laptop that won't play videos at all in my DJ program using a top of the line NvideA CARD, SHEESH.

Well ddouglass

When song errors out no message is given like in 4.1.

When using explorer I can see all my 12000+ Kma files.

When using MicroStudio Message Empty folder comes up?

I see some comments made that my files have some kind of problem and so that must be the problem.

Well the fact of the matter is that those file that are erroring out are the
same songs that I use every week for my shows and are in my personal PLAYLIST and never had any problems before in Hoster 4.1 4.0 ect. ONLY 4.2?????

Thanks for your help

Joe....

In Microstudio you have to select the folder they are in by clicking the Browse button on the left. It has its own default folder and that would be empty if you haven't set it to some other location. Also make sure to select Karaoke Files button.
Just because they played previously does not mean that they are all right. If they were imported a while back the error in them may have slipped through because the error checking wasn't as good in the previous versions.
Do you have Songverter?

Yes I do have it and converted all my Kma files to Zip and they all play in microstudio.

I checked the karaoke files button and it worked Thanks.

I copied my song backup folder over the song folder that 4.2 converted.

I reinstalled Hoster 4.1 over 4.2 and it doesn't work when I check it's still 4.2 and the same error files still wont work on play.

What can I do to fix this please

I installed 4.1 by removing 4.2 first then installing 4.1.

played the same songs with new installation of Hoster 4.1 and it errors out.(no Msg)

I try to use 3.4 and the same thing happens.

I start up Microstudio and was able to play all 25 songs that errored out in Hoster 4.2 and now 4.1?

What do I do Now?

These songs played in Microstudio with no problem they are the original files that was playing fine with no problems in 4.1 before.

I won't be able to do my Gig tonight and I hope this can be fixed for my weekend shows Fry Sat Sun.

I lost one day income I can't afford the week end

Joe, now that you have 4.01 re-installed copy your back-up in again and try them. If it is only 25 songs that are doing this why not try to import them again from your original zips. They should replace the ones that failed.

The files do play with no problem in microstudio and that's only in my playlist what about the rest of my files? that is what concerns me not being able to play someones sellection.

I also noticed that the column type files are in 4.1 and it shows HDMP3G files was this feature in 4.1?

I'm going to copy backup folder again.

Joe....

By copying your back up in again that should change the types back to HDZIP. If you are using an existing playlist though they may not be able to find them. Not sure how MTU was handling that part.

Does that mean I have to rebuild all my 20 playlist again?
