The static noise happen at the beggining of every songs, as you hit the play button the beggining is always unstable, screen begin to flicker and created static noise noise on audio, this happen in the beginning of every song as the video and audio is trying to stabilize. This does not happen on previous version.
I could only Hide the Marquee message/ scrolling message after each song played because show display dialog is greyed out when a song is playing. The Show button would not do anything except start the scrolling message at the beggining of the screen. It will be nice feature if I hit the show button the first time and the scrolling will start and hit in again the message goes off, just like the send button on previous version (hit it once in will show the singer window and hit again it will hide it) Perhap I got a bad Download because I don't have static noise when I played the song on 3.4 I play around with the insant buttons and this feature was great, it's just I could not use 4.0 yet on this computer (back-up) my main computers still has hoster 3.321 and working well I will install hoster 4.0 on another computer and see what happen?

The Show Display command is set to not be openable during play. All changes have to be made when no songs are playing. The changes to the Lyrics screen will show the next time a song is played.
Each screen has the capability of hiding or showing the Marquee and singers list, so you can customize those to your liking. My preference is to have the Marquee show only during the Intermission screen. The Show Button is for resetting the Marquee after you make changes to its content which you do through the Marquee button which can be used while a song is playing. Do you happen to have some kind of equalizer or limiter/normalizer running on your computer? Maybe included with your sound card software? If so you could try disabling those and see if it that helps.

![]() i have an hp with the conexant high definition audio card but if this was causing the audio pop then shouldn't it effect both 3.4 and 4.0
i am only experiencing this problem with 4.0 the audio is fine with 3.4 also i was wondering if the preset instabuttons will be added in the later versions of hoster such as cheering, applause ect. |

The rendering code that sets up and plays the audio and video for 4.0 is a totally rewritten code so no the two programs do not work the same. Version 3.4 is using the old code. This is because the display method is totally different for 4.0 to all the additional items on the display such as the marquee and to be able to use the Intermission screen, etc.
So no they don't use the same set-up and that is why they act differently. No preset Instabuttons. You have to set up your own. There are and lot of sites on the internet that have free sound effects that you can download and use or you can purchase a CD with a lot of them on it.

Dale, thanks for all your reply. I'm using external sound card/ module and re-set it to normal operation. Still having the same problem. What's weird on my problem, is the video lags the audio and if I pause the song for a long period of time, the video still continue. Perhap is the rendering code, because it happen on all kma files and mp3+g.
How about the Video file(mpg), Why can't I removed the vocal? I guess I have to reformat my hard drive and do a clean installation on my OS, do my updates again and re-install hoster 4.0 again. Or just wait 'till the next upgrade. Thank you very much, again.

If I remember correctly there was a problem trying to get this working and it wasn't fixed before release time, so they greyed it out. This should be fixed in a future update.

To Dale Douglass,
I played around with Hoster 4.0 yesterday, figuring why I'm getting distorted Video and audio (whick causing the static noise) in the beggining of every song I play using KMA's and mp3+g files and found out the following; 1. When connected to a TV (dual mode or extended to a TV mode), the beggining rendering of the file to extend it (show) to the external tv is unstable causing distorted video and audio (causing the static noise) and enough to have video to lag the audio. Causing hoster 4.0 to behave abnormal. 2. when not connected to A TV (single mode) and playing the song with just my computer monitor and showing the singer screen (full size or small size) on the computer monitor, the beggining distorted portion(unstable) of the song is unnoticeable and not enough to cause the lagging problem and hoster behave normal. I have Nvidia Geoforce 7300 GS and have updated firmware. I'm not sure if my graphic card is causing the problem. I'm just taking the consideration that it works normally on previous hoster version (3.4, 3.16 and other Karaoke softwares I have and other Dvd software I used to play my movies with the tv connected. I will try the same on other graphic card and see if hoster will behave the same. Maybe due to changes in rendition code in 4.0 causes this behavior. I remembered seeing this in this forum. Finally, I found a workaround so I could use the full Features of Hoster 4.0 with the help of hoster 3.4. I open both at the same time and use the stable 3.4 for playlist and use hoster 4.0 for the instant buttons for my effects and message marquee with extra benifits of the send button for singers name that I could controll on and off. Again Dale, Thanks very, very much for your replies. I'm looking forward to the next upgrade.

Are you switching between Hosters or have you figured out a way to get both on the screen at the same time?
I will pass this on to MTU and see if they can figure it out. The thing I am seeing on my desktop is basically the same thing except the lag is with only one screen (no TV) unless my video card is thinks there is a TV along side.
