I merge files a lot, and don't run into this problem. I do make up a sub file and merge from that so all the pc has to deal with is subfiles with say 50 songs in it. I make up the sub file with kma's in it, place the sub file in the songs folder. Go to tools, open the sub file and merge from there. When I have just a couple of tracks I copy them as bin files to my USB drive, copy to a temp file on the hard drive and import from there. Delete the temp after.

Maybe that was my problem, I just moved all the files into one folder & merged from there, do they need to be individual sub folders?

They merge faster if they are in there own folder, but if you've got to many merge folders floating around they can start to get unmanageable. Generally I put them all in one merge folder where they get merged over and over every month, and then once a year or so I dump them all in the main folder and rebuild.
The short answere to your question is; no, they don't have to be in subfolders.

Yeah I don't know I upgraded my sholw computer to the latest update & tried to do a merge & none of the same bookid's came up. I had a huge log of the same bookid's so I guess I will be doing alot of reimporting to make things right again.

Make up new slips without a line for numbers. Ask for title and artist only. No numbers less problems. I've been numberless on my books for a while. Don't even pay attention to em anymore.

Then if you have dupes you can find them in edit, and make em go bye bye. another one is a virtual book and just read it over while in edit.

Change the bookids in Access and then bring up the new numbers in the Hoster edit screen, click apply and they will now be permanant (won't change back when you rebuild).
