Yeah I just tried again. Rebuilt the database, then merged the duplicates. When I rebuilt it took all duplicates out, then I merged & it brought them all back in again with the same numbers as before.

Ttowntenor, you are understanding how Merge is supposed to work.
![]() "While merging, if a BookID is found that already exists in the Songs Database, the BookID stored in the KMA file being merged is renumbered to the lowest free BookID available." I've not heard this problem before. Thus, my first inclination is to suggest your reinstall Hoster from scratch by doing a REMOVE then Installing again. I would use 3.321 as it is the latest release. I'm interested to hear what you find after installing. If the problem persists, we would need to get 4 files from you; 2 pairs of duplicate BookID's to dissect and see what the Headers contain. That is the source of what we use in the Merge. |

TTowntenor, check the properties of those with duplicate IDs and make sure they are not set to "Read Only". If you copied these files from another computer on to this one Windows may have set them to Read Only which would prevent Hoster from changing the header info.

I ran into this problem today as well. You need me to send 2 sets of the duplicate BookID to you?

I merge files a lot, and don't run into this problem. I do make up a sub file and merge from that so all the pc has to deal with is subfiles with say 50 songs in it. I make up the sub file with kma's in it, place the sub file in the songs folder. Go to tools, open the sub file and merge from there. When I have just a couple of tracks I copy them as bin files to my USB drive, copy to a temp file on the hard drive and import from there. Delete the temp after.
