One thing that may help as I found a problem like this on a freinds laptop. In the display properties folder choose Settings then click on the advanced box then the Gforce Tab and Choose Video overlay settings, from the fly out window there should be a saturation setting, if this is set too low your picture will revert to black and white. Mine is set to about 114%.
