Don't understand your meaning. Hoster 3.321 DOES run AS ABSOLUTELY BEST AS POSSIBLE with Vista. There will be NO MORE support for Vista as it currently exists in the marketplace. If 3.321 is not acceptable, return to 3.317 which is stable... and which requires disabling the UAC bit to install and run Hoster at all.

If it was me, i apologize.
i read it, and thought i could learn somthing, so i tried it.
it was never meant to be an insult to MTU or anyone else.
those popups were very anoying for every program i tried to open.
not just hoster but excel, media player, jukebox, ect,
it just seemed like another general fix for vista that would help all users,
for all programs.
so again I apologize if i have offened you. Bob

Admin, if they only do the section recommended then all they are turning off is the elevation verification. All the rest of the "Super Security" is still active.

Admin, if it was me and I think it was, I apologize.

Things said in the early days of us working with Vista were mainly from lack of information as to how bad it really was. This fix does limit the security but not completely disable it. Hopefully they will fix it where you can selectively turn off the verification for individual programs, but I really doubt they will.

I am speaking of Norton. Nothing against MTU programs. It's kind of like, once a month pms is going to strike someone. I've got pop up blockers, why won't they work on the PC?

I guess, I'll learn to triple click

if you only use your your computer for karaoke, you dont need any virus protection. im pretty sure you wont get a virus from MTU. thats the only reason you should be online with the computer.

I believe if you're on line at all, you're at risk. Do you have any idea how many servers one goes through to make a connection with any site? It's for sure not a direct closed line.

ok, ive been here for a while and i have no virus software on my karaoke computer. ive never gotten a virus !

on the other hand, i also have a cloned hard drive just sitting here waiting to be put into action

I remember going online once with a laptop last year for an upgrade, had a virus protection program too, was out of date only by 30 days; was on only 5 minutes, ran into all kinds of unexplained problems that week. In fact I had went on to update the virus protection!

If you get the right virus, it will go a lot deeper than just your hard drive.

Swany, if your getting a message from Norton about running Hoster, edit the exclude list for Norton and add Hoster.exe to that list.

No, if I disable the UAC it pops up, If I enable UAC then I get that pop up. Catch 22, I'll learn to live with it. Bill Gates dropped to number 5 on the list, maybe he'll get off his Vista and return to his roots.

No Dale, it was not you. You're way more diplomatic and factual. It was made at a time when MTU was pulling our hair out (around 3,316/17) and this was the only answer we found after days of searching the Internet. However, it did act as a "hound" barking at our heels to find a better way. We think we did in 3.321.

NOT SO BEAVIS. You have been very lucky. Please DO NOT ever recommend anyone go on-line without an Anti-Virus. That is NOT MTU's recommendation, and we support tens of thousands of users.

I was once on the phone with a new customer using AOL for Internet access. He attached, came direct to MTU.com, and already had a virus. AOL infected him as soon as he signed on-line. If you don't have Anti-Virus protection, you're a sitting duck when it hits... and it WILL hit.

I use Norton for AV, and ZoneAlarm for my firewall. I have been saved many times.
