Hoster 3.316

This may be a dumb question. I have been using version 3.316 and it works great!! Is there any logical reason to upgrade to 3.318? I have Windows XP home on both my computers and the program has never given me a bit of trouble. I am concerned about updating from the issues I have seen raised on the forum.

Thanks,

Henry

Henry,

If if ain't broke, don't fix it. There are alot of new features that have been added but if they do not fit your needs then there is no reason to upgrade. The improvements they made in 3.318 well out weigh any bug you read about on this forum.

The major changes in Hoster will be made in 4.0 which is in development right now. My advice is always make sure you NEED the additional features before you upgrade.

I Hope This Helps!

Jim

That's true Jim. A lot of the time I am very leary about getting ALL the updates from Microsoft, too, I still use custom install but tend to install ver, very few, but never all of thei upgrades. I am always nervous when Admin tells us to get All the upgrades?

We're hoping to get 3.319 out for testing soon, with "hoped for" release next Monday for users. A biggie is improving Vista compliance with what we have learned over the past few months.

I think Jim's answer is spot on. If you see some changes in 3.317, or 3.318 that you really NEED... then go for it. MANY, MANY users of 3.318 are NOT having problems... only a few that you read here.

Thanks to all. Just wanted to see what folks thought. I really think Hoster is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Just wish it worked on Linux and I would toss Windows out the proverbial window. I do not believe they will ever get me to install or use Vista again. Anyway, I am way off topic. Thanks again for a great program.

I always wondered what was the greatest thing since?
Before they had sliced bread?

I think Hoster since and maybe the wheel or fire for before. Seriously though, I go to another show just to help support them a little and they run from a player swapping cd-gs all night. Cheaper mikes and sound system. The show is slower and they are much too busy to keep up with the rotation well. Hoster is soooo sweet. I had 36 singers last Friday night and running the rotation was a breeze. Don't we just love our Hoster?
