That's a decision you'll never regret.

If I might offer a suggestion, clone your main drive to the back up drive weekly. Then you will have all the Windows updates, virus program definition updates, new programs, etc., and any new files you created current on the back up drive.

Also, if I've gone to the work of creating a new cdg track with KHP,for example, and am not ready to burn a new disc, I make certain before my head hits the pillow that evening, to copy and paste it to appropriate folder on my back up drive.

i replaced the internal hhd on my laptop with the cloned one, so how do i go about cloning it again, since when i downloaded the free trial version before i bought this box version, it wont do the cloning unless the destination drive is empty..

Cloning does not require a clean drive, it replaces the data in it's entirety, so I don't understand the question. Forget I posted.

We beat this subject to death on another thread and there's no point in going over that ground all over again.

The last I knew it was decided one could not boot to a USB drive, which made cloning not as attractive as imaging regarding laptops if there were a drive failure.

I'll let someone more qualified to address the problem.

At Least that's the case with Norton Ghost. I can't say for other programs.

I didn't know this. If this is the case, as is exactly what I do, will a cloned USB drive be able to work if a bootable disc is available? As I made a bootable disk before I cloned for the first time last year. Or do I need to make a separate image?
