Have you tried to just use directory "B" to see if it is a security problem with "B"?
Essentially if it works in XP but not in Vista then it is probably a security issue with Vista. If you haven't tried this try turning off the UNC and see if that fixes both problems.

Vista & MicroStudio 4.002
Yes, I have all of the directories used by Hoster & MicroStudio as loose as they can be, and I have turned off all of the other sharing options as well. Thanks for the thoughs, though.
