Computer crashed - now hoster is gone!

My primary laptop that had my hoster set up on it finally decided to stop working in between gigs. I Had to go to my back up. In the mean time, I sent my laptop to Hewlett Packard for repair since on-line tech service could not do any good. (The laptop would show ac power and charge the battery, but was completely dead otherwise.) I specifically said that I needed my hard drive in tact because of the Hoster software. After convincing me HP would not harm the hard drive and charging me $298.00, my laptop was returned working, but they had reformatted the hard drive and all was lost. I have talked with HP twice and could get no help. They suggested getting in touch with MTU for help. (I told them I only had license for 2 installs.) Is there any help other than a new purchase? Right now I am limping on one laptop praying it doesn't fail.

Yes there is help and you won't have to purchase it again. That is as long as you have kept up with the updates. If you weren't using at least version 3.301 or have the setup file from your install then you may have to purchase an upgrade because MTU only keeps the latest versions.
You need to go to the Support section on MTU's web site and send them a web-email form from there to request having your registration reset. Be sure you give them the email account you ordered it with and an explanation why.

Once your registration is reset as Dale advised, you should be able to copy your hosterxxxxsetup.exe file from your backup pc onto a disc(which you should have done anyway) and put it on your reformatted pc and install it.

Wouldn't hurt to copy the entire Micro Technology Unlimited folder to a disc.

Prober, what version are you running on your backup (assuming it is the same as your primary laptop)?

You may be able to install on your returned laptop using your Registration Code and the hosterxxxxsetup.exe file you downloaded over the Internet, if you didn't purchase the CDROM. This file is around 18MB - 20MB in size.

If you can't reinstall, then submit a Ticket using our web email form.

Please post back here so we can close this Thread when you are working again.

The version of my back up is 3.316, the version on the cdrom I originally purchased is 3.303.

computer crashed and repaired lost hoster

Thanks for the help. My next question is how to go about downloading the hoster software. My cdrom is version 3.303. Also, I will be out of town till 10/5 and will not be able to update until 10/8 at the earliest. Unless I can do it today, 9/30. Is that okay?

On the Support page of the website are links to the downloads for the current versions.
