Must have been missing a dll file for audio, but can't imagine that it should since WMP should load that initially.

I am running Microstudio 4.001 under Vista and I started to get the same dialog box back when I tried to add a file to the playlist. It is not a major problem because the software works just fine.

Check to see if you have the latest Media Player (11 I think?) Also you might ask yingtong what wave editor he installed.

I wonder if this is common to Vista & 4.005? I just installed on my new Vista machine & am now getting the same errors. Close the error box & the song plays fine. Song over, the next error box pops up. Have current updates & Media Player 11.

waveopen error

The programme that I installed, which seemed to cure this problem, was WaveLab Lite which comes with Cubasis. Whether any other wav editor would work I don't know.

We finally decoded what Microsoft demands (but not clearly) to be Vista compliant. Microstudio 4.006 has the latest changes. In essence, Windows Vista will NOT allow you to have any working/editable files (such as a Playlist in Microstudio) in the C:\Program Files\... path. All editable files must now be in C:\Documents and Settings\... path. When you install 4.006, we will automatically MOVE all your working/editable files to the correct path.

It's not as easy to find files related to any MTU or any other vendor's Application programs, such as Microstudio, Hoster, Vogone, etc. However, look at it on the positive side... you'll be Vista Compatible.
