What operating system are you using?
Wordpad is a free program with Windows. START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES. At least it always was a freebie, but I am not familiar at all with Vista, so I cannot speak for it. |

Word pad and can't access hoster songbook.rtf
Hello again!
First of all, I DID find Word Pad under Accessories on my VISTA program, but now it's telling me that the songbook.rtf path does NOT exist, even though while in hoster i can add to my song list and create my songbook...! Second of all, I also admit that i am not very computer literate when it comes to things such as this, which is why I ask the questions, so thanks for your patience. I'm new to the world of having karaoke on a computer, i'm old school and had discs for the last 13 years; all this is almost foreign to me! Thanks again for you patience and help! |

Vista has a nasty habit of hiding files it thinks you should not have access to, unfortunately the songbook.rtf is one of them here's a link to another thread on this subject that should help.

Vista, wordpad and other scary things!
Hello again!
last week, when I was unable to access my songbook through wordpad, you all were so kind in helping me discover that Vista is evil...! Now that i can access the songbook through wordpad and edit it, I have another issue which I'm SURE is a microsoft issue, but maybe you can help. After I try editing then SAVING, I get a message that the access to songbook.rtf file is DENIED..., therefore it won't let me save my editing, although I'm IN the file and working on it! Any more threads on this subject? once again thanks for any light you can shed on this issue! |

Find the songbook file and change the security settings (right click on file and go to properties) to allow everyone full control. You can also find the wordpad.exe, right click on it and go to Run As and change to run as administrator. One of the two should let you modify the file.
