Adding a song from a disc already imported

OK, there is a song called "Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" THis song title is too long so it did not import with the rest of the songs on the disc. Now when I go back at try to import it with a shorter title, I get an error message stating

The BookID you have selected is already in use. Please select or type another BookID.

Unfortunatly, you can not change the BookID. I can highlight it, but can not make any changes.

Do a database search for that rootid or any of the songs associated with that disk and scroll over and note the brand and diskid.

If all else fails there are ways to force it. I've had to do it on occasion.

Did it error on the original import or did it say it was imported?

You could always go to the folder where the KMA files are and see if it's listed. If so I'd manually delete it, then do a database rebuild, and then reinstall.

There could be a catch22 situation here:

The real title is too long, and the system may not recognize the abbreviated title, so it may have to be installed as an unknown brand. I'd think you could still assign the correct disc id, once the database rebuild clears it.

If it's not in the folder, then I'd think doing a database rebuild would clear that disc id number

On the original import it did error and said the song title was to long for the amount of space alloted. I hit OK and it skipped that song and finished importing the rest of the disc. Then when I went back to import the missing song is when I can not change the BookID even though that's what it tells me to do.

You should be able to change the Title and keep it in the same bookid as the rest of that CD to import it. Just make sure you shorten it enough to make it fit for the header.

I agree, I should be able to, however it will not import. I keep getting the error about the bookID

Check your database and see if that track number is listed as used? If so you may have to edit/delete that entry. Besure when you try to import it that the correct Brand and DiscID are listed so Hoster can pick the BookID.
You may have to edit/delete the whole disc to open up the BookID, then re-import the whole thing remembering to edit that title before you import them all.

I had to delete the other songs that were imported on that disc and start over. It did work that way. I do have 2 other issues. Every time a disc finishes importing, hoster crashes. And if I try to put anying manually into the Brand: or DiscID: Hoster crashes. Only "Add Tracks Using FreeDB" works and that gives me "Various" for Brand: which is kind of strange.

Make sure you have all the updates from Microsoft via Custom update. Also I would uninstall Hoster and re-install. You shouldn't have any registration problem since this is all on the same computer.

I have to first of all thank you for your assistance. I never even thought to do my windows upgrades and have not done them in over a year. (If it ain't broke) well, the other problem I have is my ripping computer is running Hoster 3.312 and my performing computer is running 3.303 I was never able to get the upgrade to work.

That would probably be because of the missing updates. If you are on a high speed internet connection, I highly recommend you set Auto-update to at least download the updates and then you can choose which ones to install. There have been many security breeches found in Microsoft OS and programs that you are leaving your self vulnerable to.
