Dale you are saying that you can't do custom assembly with more than 99 tracks and that the track number can't be a duplicate one. Well I just did it with 1507 files...
The number 99 is the highest number a BookID Root can have. So, if you imported 1507 files, then each Disc had < 99 trks/disc. This is why Hoster kept importing.

Quote:
I want to retain the Artist, Title, and manufactures name and disc ID i.e SC8800-13, MH1011-12, CBEP464-1-07 What do I put in SELECT BRAND?
Quote:
None of these files had Brand Name in the title...
The Brand id NOT contained in the File Name. The Brand gets filled-in by Hoster automatically, if Hoster can interpret the DiscID correctly.

Under BATCH, you will not be able to Change the BRAND unless Hoster cannot identify the very FIRST Trk that is Clicked.

I would HIGHLY suggest to SEPARATE ALL Brands into their own Folder for BATCH Importing.

This is because I just tested BATCH IMPORTING this:
C:\A\Ah2000-02 - Kiss - Rock & Roll All Nite.zip
C:\A\Ah2000-03 - Armstrong, Louis - What A Wonderful World.zip
C:\A\Ah2000-04 - Chapin, Harry - Taxi.zip
C:\A\Ah2000-05 - Hollies, The - Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress.zip
C:\A\Ah2000-06 - Heart - Magic Man.zip
C:\A\Ah2000-07 - Derek & The Dominos - Layla.zip
C:\A\Ah2000-08 - Van Halen - Why Can't This Be Love.zip
C:\A\Amm001-01 - Keith, Toby - Honky Tonk U.zip
C:\A\Amm001-02 - Keith, Toby - As Good As I Once Was.zip
C:\A\Amm001-03 - Keith, Toby - She Ain't Hooked On Me No More.zip
C:\A\Amm001-04 - Keith, Toby - Big Blue Note.zip
C:\A\Cbep452-1-02 - Robbins, Marty - My Woman, My Woman, My Wife.zip
C:\A\Cbep452-1-03 - Mccall, C.W. - Convoy.zip
C:\A\Cbep452-1-04 - Fairchild, Barbara - Teddy Bear Song.zip
C:\A\Cbep452-1-05 - Williams, Don - Amanda.zip
C:\A\Cbep452-1-06 - Lynn, Loretta - One's On The Way.zip
C:\A\Cbep452-1-07 - Charlie, Rich - Very Special Love Song, A.zip
C:\A\Cbep452-1-08 - Twitty, Conway - You've Never Been This Far Before.zip
C:\A\Cbep452-1-09 - Young, Faron - It's Four In The Morning.zip
C:\A\Lg001-01 - Bowie, David - Space Oddity.zip
C:\A\Lg001-02 - Bowie, David - Changes.zip
C:\A\Lg001-03 - Bowie, David - Rock 'N' Roll Suicide.zip
C:\A\Mm6000-01 - Houston, Whitney - I Will Always Love You.zip
C:\A\Mm6000-02 - John, Elton - Simple Life.zip
C:\A\Mm6000-03 - Adams, Bryan - Everything I Do, I Do It For You.zip
C:\A\Sc8301-02 - Brooks, Garth - Night Will Only Know, The.zip
C:\A\Sc8301-03 - Restless Heart - Big Iron Horses.zip
C:\A\Sc8301-04 - Cyrus, Billy Ray - When I'm Gone.zip

And got this when selecting BRAND in the ADD TRACK section on the MAIN Menu:
BRAND................Disc#
AH2000...............AH2000
.........................AMM001
.........................CBEP452

This means that Hoster Imported 2 different DiscIDs under the WRONG BRAND. AMM001 and CBEP452 DO NOT belong to BRAND ALL HITS 2000. Yet, these two DiscIDs where in the DROP-DOWN Menu as Discs under the BRAND Name AH2000.

Several of your Posts state that you are selecting the Brand, then clicking add Tracks.
Quote:
Every time I click add files whether it is batch or single I get a message saying "please select brand" so I select brand and hit add files and the message pops up again. Over and over again. Now what?
Quote:
This is telling me I need to select a brand name when I have already put one in there. But every time I hit add files the brand name I have selected disappears and the error message saying select brand name appears.
Quote:
As soon as I hit add files the custom assembly disappeared and the message came up asking for the brand selection.
Note on Post #25: You couldn't have had "Custom Assembly" showing unless it was Selected First. Then, Clicking the ADD TRACKS Button, after selecting "Custom Assembly" would have put you in the "Endless Loop."

This is INCORRECT, as you DO NOT click ADD FILES a second time.

I really am not any kind of expert at this part. I have imported a couple custom assembly types from converted SCDG and that is about it. I hope someone else can come up with some ideas.
Now, how "helpers" missed 3 GLARING references to what you were doing wrong is beyond me. Or the fact that BETA Testers do not know how to properly TEST a ZIP BATCH IMPORT...well, I don't have the words.

Click the first track listed
Click BATCH Button
Click ADD FILES Button
Select the BRAND or enter the BRAND Manually, if Hoster doesn't automatically find the BRAND
Click OK to start the BATCH IMPORT PROCESS.

Again, due to my NEGATIVE results in the above TEST of "Multiple DiscID" ZIP BATCH Importing, anyone performing ZIP BATCH Importing should GROUP EXACT BRANDS in their own Folder.

I assume you are counting the receptionist to get the number 3.

Thanks GD123. You are correct I missed the glaring error as you say, because I do not work with zip files at all. I have only used BIN files with complete information in the title and a Custom Assembly from SCDG conversions. So yes that means I am not real familiar with this function.

Duh...the procedure is the SAME...whether working with HD CDG, BIN, MP3G, or ZIP.

So, this is not an excuse.

It is not correct to Click ADD FILES, choose a BRAND, then Click ADD FILES AGAIN, which is what he was doing and what he wrote 3 times about trying to get an answer from someone who could H E L P.

gd123, you are out of order to come down on ddouglas as offering what you perceived as an "excuse".

Excuses can only be tendered by one in a position of responsibility failing to perform, or having an unfulfilled obligation.

Not being a member of the MTU staff, ddouglas does not fall into that catagory.

He is a member just like others who take the time and effort to try to help on these forums, so lighten up, and be thankful for those who give their time.

I think gd123 sensed my frustration and was just trying to help. I thank him for getting involved. I also appreciate Dale for trying to help. What I am not happy about is that nobody from the MTU Staff had any input.

I appreciate him laying out athe procedure for you too. I just don't appreciate his negative attitude. Nuff said.

Did you try it and did you get anywhere?

Up to Post #15 I was following this while your peers were giving you proper direction in relation to the Thread Topic.

At Post #15, you changed the Topic, and I missed that. I am sorry, but once a clear answer to the Thread Topic has been found, I cease to monitor that Thread as often there is chit-chat that continues for a while.

Had you started a new Thread with the new Topic, I would have started tracking it.

Having said that, I will also say I am sorry that MTU staff, myself included, did not particpate as you expected. We also are answering emails, and Support Tickets, and frankly, the three methods are simply getting out of hand. We are making some changes to our FAQ pages to remove them from the Knowledge Base in the Support Center. It turns out there are too many who simply can't/won't register in the Forums or Support Center, and find using the Support Center Search too difficult. Sigh... sometimes adding what we think is superior support means turns out to go backwards for some. We are working on simplifying our FAQs so everyone can benefit from them.

The other problem here is flaming. We frown on this. Nuff of a warning I hope.
