CAN I CHANGE THE DISC ID's?

Iv ben doing karaoke shows now for many years and all my books are listed with their respected "DISC's".

I have imported all my discs and have made folders for every disc's kma files numbered folder "01" for Disc 1, folder "02",for Disc 2...etc. Reason is I could then (using my current books), look up the disc # and the trk.

It works perfectly but for some reason when importing from every cd, they were not placed in numerical order.

For example the first disc's in the Disc# dropdown window are 03,04,05,06, then its 01,02, then 46, 47 etc etc.

Q 1. Is it possible to re-arranga the numbers into order instead of all over the place?
It would be so much easier to look for disc numbers if they were in order.

Q 2. Am I able to re-write the numbers that you see in the DISC#dropdown window box eg: some of them are labelled "DISC 104", "DISC 105" etc. Can I change them to just "104", "105" etc. Just so that all my disc numbers are consistant and inorder.

I'll give this a try but I am not sure it will work. Unfortunately you can't edit the DiscID in the Edit Songs tool.

First let me get some clarification. You imported all your discs in Hoster? Did you import them with the correct Brand name & DiscID or as "custom assembly" and assign your own DiscID?

Or are you actually talking about the BookID?

Unfortunately the only way you will be able to change any of this is probably going to mean re-importing with the new information.

Have you considered that the BookID is doing exactly what you want? The BookID consists of an up to 4 digit "Book" with 2 digits for the track. so your Disc 01 would be 101, 102, 103 etc. your Disc 104 would be 10401, 10402, 10403, etc. All you had to do was load them with the correct BookID to correspond with your existing books. Then the BookID drop down is in correct order.

Where's your sense of adventure? I guess that means you typed every title and artist in....whew! Better you than me!

Actually, if you have the drive space you could create another folder(1), point your database to that one, change the import location to it and start importing using the correct brand name and DiscID and setting the BookID correct. Without having to type in all of the information it should go a bit faster.
When you have a show coming up just switch the database back to first set and go do your show.
