I am having the same problem with Vista Home Premium installed with a completely clean install with hard drive format. I have tried everything suggested and nothing works. I have a show coming up and if I can't fix in a couple of days I will have to go back to XP. I read on one site something about _isxxx.dll files not working on bundled installs, but if install was run unbundled it worked. MYU does not provide and undbundled file set that can be used so I can't try that.

HELP!!!! I have submitted a ticket with MTU, but it has been over 2 days and the status still says unviewed!!!!

MTU does not work on the weekends, so if you put in a ticket, today would be the first chance for MTUSupport to look at it. Depending on how many tickets were submitted over the weekend as to how long it takes for them to get to you.

Here is our current status of this error condition.

Hoster 3.315 was installing fine on Vista Basic, Vista Premium and Vista Ultimate. We have users on all three.

All of a sudden, NEW computers are being shipped with something changed that is causing this _ismtu.dll installation error. This is a Microsoft change that was unexpected and undocumented. We have not yet been able to discern what it is.

We have two new laptops we just received that won't allow installing 3.315 either so this is now a critical Corporate problem, not just your problem. We now have our Support Manager and our Senior Programmer researching this.

I am confident we will find the answer shortly. All we can say at this point is please wait.

If you absolutely can't wait and want a refund, please submit a Support Ticket to Office Manager (confidential) with your name, email, order number and product name to be refunded, and we will do it. However, if you intend to buy it later, please wait.

Try this

Save the install file to you desk top, right click on the install program.
When it prompts you and asks you to choose, Configure it within XP standards... Hope this helps, I think it will for Vista Business... Let us know... email me for more in depth instructions if needed...

I tried running the install file by going to properties and telling it to run it as XP SP2 and that did not work. I communicated with microsoft as this seems to be an issue effecting several software packages according to some threads at MS. They sent me some things to try. I will try them tonight and update results. If I find something that works I will post full instructions.

Has anyone ever had this problem on a retail version of Vista or is it only on the preinstalled systems? There has been no change to the OPK since Windows Vistas initial release so I question whether this is actually a Microsoft thing or something that the wysiwyg companies are putting in. Has anyone tried a clean boot prior to the installation attempt? Here is the KB for doing a clean boot in Vista: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...6d71a1033.mspx

The clean boot is something I plan to try tonight. Microsoft indicated that they are having the same issues with several drivers and software packages. It appears to be some common service or software launched at startup causing the problem. With a little work I could possibly identify a list of possible culprits. One source I found said that using an unpackaged set of files with a setup.exe launch gets rid of the issue. This may be a solution for MTU if it works to provide a zip file that would extract and then run a setup.exe file instead of the packaged exe application. I will know more about clean boot and conflicts when I try some things tonight. If any one comes up with additional info please post to save me trouble.

Do you have a link to some of those threads in the MS forum? I would like to check it out.

I haven't seen any threads at Microsoft. I am communicating directly with one of their engineers.
