Where is " Prepare Song Book "

I have a message that opens up and states..... Your Song Book does not contain the changes you made. Run the Tools menu "Prepare Songbook" command to update your song book. When I open TOOLS, there is no PREPARE SONGBOOK command. Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm guessing that's a typo (I'll let MTU make the call on that), basicly it's just warning you that if you have a songbook file already made, the changes you just did won't be in that songbook file. It should be telling you that the changes you made won't be in the songbook file until you create (or recreate)one from the "Songbook" tab at the top of the playlist screen (the main screen)

And by "Songbook" I mean the kind you hand out to your singers not the song database you use during the show, the database is updated immediately - nothing else needs to be done for that.

Uh.... Its on the menu bar, just to the left of the Tools menu.

We'll remove the reference to "Tools menu" in the dialog box.

I guess I'm a little thick headed.... Under Songbook, there is no Prepare Songbook Command. Should I hit CREATE??

Thanks

Ernie, if you want to know all the ins and outs of the SongBook operation, there is a whole section in the manual on it.

Since i updated to 3.314 i cannot create a songbook. on any of my computers.
I have read the manual till I'm blue in the face and still can't figure out whats wrong.
I'm sure its a simple fix.
But i haven't been able to determine what to do.
Someone please offer me a solution to this problem before I lose my mind.

First how about some details. What exactly are you doing to try to create your songbook?

Give us a step-by-step of buttons you click, fields you enter, etc.

Unhappy unable to create song book since update to 3.314

I first click on songbooks then select what i want such as brand disc id etc. then i pick word 2003 for my processor and then close that and hit create songbook and it keeps popping up with a window that says close rtf in viewer and this just keeps happening over and over.
Now in my old version of hoster 3.00 it would create a songbook in a matter of seconds and store it in hoster songbook category in a word document which i could open and see my books and then take it to kinkos for printing .
Like i said i have looked at the hoster manual and even printed out the section about songbook creating and studied it but i can't figure it out unless the version of 3.314 somehow is hoster lite instead of the full hoster program.
I know that the hoster lite doesn't include song book capabilities.
But I've never bought hoster lite only the full hoster program.
So i'm hoping someone can help me with this problem.

Try setting it to RTF viewer and then find the file under ~Hoster/Songbooks and open it in Word.

This is actually a bug that we found today in Hoster 3.314.

Here is how to fix it for now.

Go to this directory C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Songbook.

You must create a file in this directory called "SongBook.rtf". It does not matter what the file is, just name a file this and put it in that folder, it will then work.

It will be fixed in the next version of Hoster.

I'm glad you found the bug. A friend of mine just bought Hoster and I had talked the program up and he bought it and wasn't to happy about not being able to make books. The first time he tryed to make books it wouldn't work. I tryed it too and I couldn't make them either. I'll try the little trick and see if it works

Bryan, Ernie called me and I got him fixed up so he is a happy camper now. He told me what you had replied about the bug. I took it from there.
