This happened to me 6 months ago and Dell Co. determined it was my video card. The motherboard was replaced (with integrated card) and all was fine afterwards. maybe this is your problem as well??

I'm going to try and run my ext. mon. through the s-video port on the card next. (Currently I run it through the RCA plug on it) I'll try it tonight and pray that it works... I hate to have to replace my video card... I'm sure I'll get one so I have it on hand, but I didn't know a video card would fail like that... I thought it was all or nothing with them...

Did you try that suggestion, and/or restoring to a time when things were working just in case there was a glitch in your settings?

Check your cable to the external monitor first. When this happened to me it was simply a case of having set my table leg on the cable and crushed it. Replaced cable and that fixed it. Cables are cheaper than Video cards too.

I tried many cables... I'll check my settings agian over noon one more time... Hopefully it got changed somehow by accident and only has to be changed back and saved... I have a show tonight and it would be horrible if I have to back out or use the one KJ monitor... (The bar puts the words on a big projection system so the entire place can see it from anywhere... The Crowd loves it...) So today over lunch, it is

1. Check settings and try again
2. Try to run EXT Mon out of the S-Video port and convert it to RCA that way... (I was using the RCA port on the video card)
3. ????
4. Buy a new Video card... Any suggestions on what will work well... I have a Walmart only a few miles away...

Thanks for the help,

Ripper
