Bryant both Plextor 760 and 716 are IDE. 716 does have a SATA version, but they also have an IDE. Don't know if the SATA version is compatible with MTU programs as I have never tried one.

I see. This motherboard says RAID support.
The plextor says IDE drive. The 760 says serial ata drive. Will they both work? |

Oh no, The 716sa says "Serial ATA" and the 760 says "IDE".
You're saying better not use the "ATA" one? Please let me know? |

There are two models of the Plextor 716.
The 716AL is an IDE drive and the 716SA is the ATA (SATA) The 760A is strictly IDE |

And Bryant "Raid" does not have anything to do with DVD burners. That only works for hard drives which are SATA.

Okay I think I've got it, The shuttle mother board supports raid. (which refers to HD connections).
Still, It might be best to order the 760 IDE drive as the plextor of choice (yes or no). And thanx for all your help, really! |

The 760 is their latest and fastest model so IMO yes that would be the best.
