Hang Up On Import

I just upgraded to 3.310. In my show computer I have the Plextor PX-W8432t. In my backup computer I have Plexwriter 24/10/40a. Both drives cause a system lock up on an import. The only way to recover is by holding in the power button until the computer shuts off. Two different computers, two plextor drives that worked fine until the upgrade. Fortunately the DVD-rom drive in my backup computer will work but the one in my show computer will not. No lockup, just wont read the disk. I brought both computers up to date on Microsoft updates, before upgrading to 3.310. Am I going to have to choose between buying two new drives or the upgrade?? What gives??

If memory serves me right. Max read speed on my drives is 4X. The new software only offers speed down to 6X. Could that be the problem?

Lpwalsh,
How Long are you waiting? I have had some clients with older drives just tell me that they have to wait about 30 seconds with these old drives, or it acts like it is hung.

Let me know.

It is a relief to see that more people are having the same problems with the Plextor 2410 that I have had. Maybe some one will find a cure if enough people complain about problems with Hoster and the Plextor 2410!! I know I have had my share of headaches with this situation.

They're probably working on it now. I've found two other drives that will work with Hoster that are faster. Didn't have to buy any. But they wont work with Microstudio. Now waitng for the upgrade for Microstudio to recognize the same drives. I've worked in research and development before. Can't always anticipate everything. MTU always tries to stay on top of it, though. This was a major change. Hoster is, by far, the best of it's kind. And getting better all the time.

I have the same problem… My plextor driver does not respond when attempting to import a disc in hoster.
I had to use microstudio first, and then to convert my cdg file.
I’ve not had any problem until this last upgrade.

The thing about this is that the Plextor 2410 is not the only Plextor drive that is causing issues in Hoster v3.310....there are other listed as approved drives from Plextor that display the same symptoms as the 2410! I have two of those others for a total of 4 out of six of the plextor's I own that are unusable with Hoster v3.310.
