you can lift the ground by using a three prong to two prong adapter when you plug in your laptop.
i use a power strip and lift the ground on that and plug everything into the strip. even though it is not recomended it has always worked for me.Bob

Bob,
Do you use a three-to-two prong plug at the end of your laptop cord AND at the end of the strip as well?
