Bugs in 3.303
There are still a few bugs present in 3.303.
First, when importing mp3+g, there is an error when importing any file whose artist or song title contains a period. Simply deleting the period manually, importing it, and then correcting the name will suffice (Example: R.E.M. will not import, REM will.) I believe the error varies depending on where the period is but it usually results in the program caliming a cdg missing.
Second, when playing tracks in the edit songs mode, playing too many consecutive tracks will lead to a computer crash. Sometimes, if you are too fast with the buttons, you might have the controls act as if no track is playing when, in reality, a track is playing. Trying to play a track will cause the program to crash OR exiting the program will also cause a crash.
Third, the songbook creater doesn't properly handle lines that are too long to be completely displayed on one line. After creating the songbook, I still have to go in and manually edit the list. The unedited list looks somewhat messy and can also result in some of the song code being cut off. Also, the alphabetical order needs improvement. Songbooks should be sorted first by artist, then title OR by title, then artist. Currently the songbook is only sorted by a single field.
Fourth, if a screen saver happens to kick in while the program is running, Hoster crashes. Obviously, the program should not be run with a screen saver in party mode but sometimes I am editing the songs information which sometimes requires that I play a song for validation of the title and artist and if I let the song play too long, the screen saver kicks in and the program crashes. This is the most minor bug but still one that should be fixed.
All in all, Hoster is an excellent, full featured program that I would recommend to anyone.
