If the disks are dirty or scratched, clean them real good before importing. Hoster tries to fix errors it finds while importing.

also sometimes it pays to copy a cdg disk before importing it. I have found disks that took an hour to import. First copy the disk, and it will import in a couple of minutes. This is because it is a clean copy.

burning slow

I have now started to clean each disc. than i remembered a kj who would use a hair dryer to warm up his discs. i did that the first one i put in did it in 13 minutes. Approx how long does it take on a average. now i am doing another one and again real slow. do different discs take longer? same brand just different disc. I am now on song #4 20 minutes. I KNOW i am
a beginer in this i do admit it. also the window media player always comes up saying unkown tracks if i "X " it out it asks me if i am sure so i just minamized it. At the start of doing this I kept on getting a screen saying updates are available or do you want to run what you allready have (something like that) i clicked run with what i allready have. Maybe I was wrong with that?? do not know.
i do not know how to make a copy of the disc, i do not have a cdg player just hoster. I did buy the second hard drive do you think i should buy a cdg palyer too. Like i said before i call and call mtu never get a real person leave messages with my home phone and cell phone # have not recieved any call backs. I have looked over the manual. could not find nothing there.
also i see there is a duet key. how do i use that? when i see a list that has duet songs on it i highlite it and click duet, but it is not coming up as a duet when i practice with search. nothing in manual (that i found) showing me how to put songs in different catagories, I think i should find someone in ne wisconsin who is running this and i can go there
thank you very much . ps i tried to put in a chartbuster but it started slow so i just want to try to put in all the swet georgia brown first

I dont recommend the hair dryer. That can damage a disk.

It sounds like you may need to disable the cd autoplay feature.

need to check that your cd player/ide controller is set to DMA mode rather than PIO.

another suggestion is Read the manual It is very well written, and informative.

Red face

thanks everyone!

I disabled windows media player and it is going MUCH faster... about 1 minute for each track. I am using whatever is is the brand new hoster rack mount system. just delivered it yesterday 03/08/06. Just kinda bummed did not realize it would take so long. I have 250 or so discs to load. So much to do and so little time. thanks to all of you for the great advice.
I will print out the whole manual when i am done with this.

I wonder why it's taking so long per disc. I didn't have these problems and i had over 2,000 cdg's to import. It only took a few weeks to do it when i got in the groove.

hi

Are you listening to each song after you get them uploaded? just because you have them on the computer doesnt mean there right!!!... i have been going back and redoing tons of songs, as a mater of fact there's songs i will not be able to use so i will have to replace them.... the ones that seem to take the longest to load are usually the ones i have been having to redo..not in all cases but generally the most case... another thing i have learned, the NEW CD+G's load the best..I been trying to load CD+G's that are 3 years old, geeze.... had to buy a buffer to fix scratches!!!! and that dont work alot of the times!! so all i can say is take your time and Good Luck!!!! it'll be worth it after all is said and done!!! Don D
