Skipping and Sticking at the start of a CDG File - Audigy sound card problem

I tried a Philips sound card just to see if it was the problem and it does work, however I'm not very pleased with the quality I can notice a huge difference. I reinstalled the Audigy to see if I could make a few changes to get it working correctly...I could not. I wonder if it could be a simple setting somewhere? Maybe even a conflict to do with the VIA chipset? If anything turns up let me know...until then I'll keep trying things.
