did you buy this computer for hoster or did you use one that was laying around the house ?

did you get all windows updates ?

did you update your video card driver from the manufacturer ?

if you use a computer you were using for your personal use, you should have reformatted it before installing hoster.

the only reason hoster would be importing slow is if you are importing cheap burned CD's

I use my laptop ONLY for DJ/KJ purposes, and use my home PC as the "backup" computer because it has a Plextor CD drive. So, I do all of my importing on the home PC to an external hard drive. I've been using this method for nearly three years now with no problems whatsoever, until I upgraded to the latest version of Hoster.

All Windows Updates are installed. The video card driver is likely not a factor here; video plays smoothly on both my home PC and my laptop. Additionally, I should not have to reformat ANYTHING before using Hoster, especially before using an upgraded version of Hoster.

The CDG that was being imported when Hoster crashed was Supercore #21, from the new 2005 pack. I don't use burned CDs.

Keep the suggestions coming, please.

Are you using XP Home or XP Pro. I am trying to find a problem on some systems that seems to crash under XP home, so far while importing .cdg files from the HD into Hoster. Not sure why, as I won't have an XP Home system to test until Monday, but then I will find out.

I have 2 beta testers testing the next version, that are reporting this, they both have XP Home.

We are unable to reproduce this on XP Pro or Win 2k.

Hi Bryan,

As luck would have it, I am running XP Home (Version 2002, with Service Pack 2). Ordinarily I'd be fine with starting/restarting, but it's getting tedious and one of the restarts also caused a loss of all of the karaoke .zip files that I had planned to convert to .kma files (the hard reboot damaged the file structure on the external drive, and the only fix was to reformat the drive). So, I'm back at square 1.

That's the short-term solution for me; from what I had read here on the forums, there was a "crash" problem that was happening prior to version 3.108 when importing songs- I thought it had been cleared up in the latest versions, so I went ahead with the update so that I could convert my .zip files to KMAs. I probably should've waited, but I'm confident that it will be fixed.

The non-functioning key changer is another issue that I can't figure out... I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be working.

If you'll read Support's post, the problem is in importing CDG files from the hard drive. Zip files were working o.k.
