i personally built my computer and never go on the internet and never put any programs that i dont use for karaoke or DJ.

people dont understand that in a commercial application you cant use the family computer for running shows.

you could use the family computer if you reformat, then only install hoster and maybe a DJ program. this will minimize upgrade problems. always get windows updates before upgrading hoster !!!!

im not accusing anyone of anything, but it sure sounds like alot of people are trying to install hoster on more than the 2 you are allowed. if this is way wrong (admin or MTUSUPPORT) please delete this part of my post.

The only way that I know that you can get this error, is that something in the system that the security was linking to changed and caused the error.

Also, had you rebooted once you installed the software, or did you not reboot until you go to your show? Just wondering, I would always make sure the system still worked after doing a Reboot, before going to the show.

Hoster Serial Number Issue

I use a Dell laptop and yesterday I forgot to plug in my external hard drive and the message appeared, much to my dismay. On realising my mistake and plugging in the hard drive, the problem cleared, and please note that all my kma files are stored on the external hard drive. Could this problem relate to where the files are stored?

Hoster Serial Number Issue

Further to last post and heeding of comments I again un/re-installed v3.110.
Subsequently able to open and used seven times - thought problem solved . Just tried to open again and flagged message displayed.

I use a Evesham 510 (beleive ASUS base) with 1024mem XPro 80gb HDD (where Hoster and its database is located) and a swapable 80GB HDD (where I have my main store of mp3/cdg files)

I do not conduct Karaoke shows - I am a singer with memory/dislexia and use system as an aid when I sing - either as teleprompter or to produce compilation discs to use with my tablet dvd player.

In the past system has worked whether or not removeable HDD was present and regardless of being connected to internet.

An further thoughts/experience

Ivor

Angry Same problem for me also

I'm using a Dell laptop pent. 4 3.0 ghz and use an external drive also and I have been having the same problem. I have had all my windows updates installed and it seem to work until I shut it off and then on the next start up gives me the error message "Serial # doesn't match reg code, reinstall hoster"
This is definitly a huge problem as it renders the program useless and makes it totally unreliable, not so good if you have a room full of people to please.
