Hoster Serial Number Issue

After exiting Hoster Normally a couple of days ago, I came back to the program today. I am getting this message " Your Serial number does not match your Registration information. Please reinstall Hoster and Try again. This is very frustrating. I can find no reason for this. I tried reinstalling the program and have the same results.

Hoster Serial Number Issue

Yes, Me too. This is version 3.1.08 and it is a new install not an upgrade. I had to uninstall the program and re-install it. What happens if this happens again?

Serial Number problem after upgrading to 3.10

I also suffered inability to open Hoster (flag - reg info not matching serial no.) after upgrading to v3.08 but eventually after many uninstal/reinstal actions got programme to open.

I have just downloaded v3.10 and problem recurs Three times I have manged to open 3.10 and use it only for it to fail after one or two loadings.

I am unble to get it to load again even after transfering all previous download files to removeable disc and loading only v3.10

i personally built my computer and never go on the internet and never put any programs that i dont use for karaoke or DJ.

people dont understand that in a commercial application you cant use the family computer for running shows.

you could use the family computer if you reformat, then only install hoster and maybe a DJ program. this will minimize upgrade problems. always get windows updates before upgrading hoster !!!!

im not accusing anyone of anything, but it sure sounds like alot of people are trying to install hoster on more than the 2 you are allowed. if this is way wrong (admin or MTUSUPPORT) please delete this part of my post.

The only way that I know that you can get this error, is that something in the system that the security was linking to changed and caused the error.

Also, had you rebooted once you installed the software, or did you not reboot until you go to your show? Just wondering, I would always make sure the system still worked after doing a Reboot, before going to the show.

Hoster Serial Number Issue

I use a Dell laptop and yesterday I forgot to plug in my external hard drive and the message appeared, much to my dismay. On realising my mistake and plugging in the hard drive, the problem cleared, and please note that all my kma files are stored on the external hard drive. Could this problem relate to where the files are stored?

Hoster Serial Number Issue

Further to last post and heeding of comments I again un/re-installed v3.110.
Subsequently able to open and used seven times - thought problem solved . Just tried to open again and flagged message displayed.

I use a Evesham 510 (beleive ASUS base) with 1024mem XPro 80gb HDD (where Hoster and its database is located) and a swapable 80GB HDD (where I have my main store of mp3/cdg files)

I do not conduct Karaoke shows - I am a singer with memory/dislexia and use system as an aid when I sing - either as teleprompter or to produce compilation discs to use with my tablet dvd player.

In the past system has worked whether or not removeable HDD was present and regardless of being connected to internet.

An further thoughts/experience

Ivor

Angry Same problem for me also

I'm using a Dell laptop pent. 4 3.0 ghz and use an external drive also and I have been having the same problem. I have had all my windows updates installed and it seem to work until I shut it off and then on the next start up gives me the error message "Serial # doesn't match reg code, reinstall hoster"
This is definitly a huge problem as it renders the program useless and makes it totally unreliable, not so good if you have a room full of people to please.

I read these posts with pain.

I will hold an engineering meeting to see what changed in 3.1xx that could cause this. It should NEVER happen by just turning a computer on/off, especially if Hoster was running and then all of a sudden it gives the "Serial number..." error.

We will study this.

Is there any External Devices on the computers that are causing this problem? The types of things I want to know about on these specific computers are if you have an External Ethernet card or Wireless network card or any external Hard drives that were attached when you installed the software, and then removed. This will give us something to go on.

I am also getting this message about the serial number not matching. It really does make me nervous when at a show, but so far if I totally shut down my pc and turn it on again, Hoster will open as normal. Not sure why this is happening, but hope a fix can be found. Thanks.

Hoster Serial Number Issue

I use an Actiontec 802.11B Wireless Adapter when I connect to the internet.
Could this be the cause ? I don't plug it in when I do a show.

Smile Problem went away!

I removed my Wireless-G by Linksys safely while my computer was still on and the error went away! There definitely seems to be a connection here!
I had wiped my hard drive clean and did a fesh install of windows xp pro and then installed Hoster 3110, However I do not remember if the wireless eithernet card was in at the time I installed Hoster, I believe it was because I had done all the windows updates. but clearly, I clicked on the hoster shortcut and got the error, removed the wireless card WITHOUT shuting off the pc or rebooting then clicked on the Hoster Icon and it worked fine!
Hope this helps.

Ernie

Serial Number Doesn't Match

After Opening satisfactorily on 6/7 occassions

Wed Hoster failed to load again - once again uninstalled all hoster progs except databases - could not re-instal (internet access unavailable and no floppy drive)

Sat. (wireless hotspot connection to internet) re-installed Hoster v3.110 using internet but flag again displayed - rebooted and program opened - closed programme and tried again - opened. Returned home (no internet) tried to open and again flag displayed on every attempt.

Sun. (at same wireless hotspot as yesterday) Hoster opens satisfactorily - twice - will I be when I get to my gig?

If it does I will have to seriously think about ditching Hoster
