in big trouble here

I purchased hoster some time ago and it took me a long time to get the puter built that I wanted to run this program on. after getting the puter up and going exactly the one I wanted, I installed hoster and the builder of the puter played with hoster to make sure it was working ok.
In the process of doing this, he sampled, withthe cd, or book numbers and now I have them on here and can not get them deleted even though there are not songs in there for those book numbers hhow do I delete everything on here so I can start back with book number 001 and go thru the 1k of cds I have, I have used this program and love how it works just cant get started because I cant get to use book number one. Thank you for your trouble
Danny

Hello Danny,

Ok this is an easy one. Goto your Hoster/Databases folder and delete the file called songs.mdb. The next time you start Hoster it will create a new songs.mdb that will be empty now you can start back at 001.

Hope that helps,

Roger

Question In Reference to Dan Matney!

HelloThere

Im a Newbie to this site,From The City of Adelaide, in South Australia!

I have had Hoster for a while now, and i have all of my songs loaded onto it, i want to re-do my book id number system as well because my numbers skip after each new cd, (eg 101,102 up to 115 then,201,202,203 and so on). i think this is because you cannot continue on with 116, 117,and so on because it is a different cd i'm importing and you need to enter a new book id for the new cd.

Because we have all our songs in Hoster already, without deleting the songs can we delete all book id numbers and start again at 001 right through without any breaks in numbers? we tried deleting the songs.mdb file, but the book ids were still the same. do we have to delete all the songs and reimport everything again to start off at 001?

Thankya,Thankya Very Much

Mike.

i dont think you so.

why would it matter if you skipped a few book id #'s ?? if im not wrong, you can type the book id # that it skipped over in the field and it should be able to be used.

You are correct on this point

At present there is no way to change the book ID's short of deleting all your songs (and songs.mdb database) and reimporting. I don't know if anything like that is on the horizon or not.

Kickinkaraoke's advice was based on the fact that Dan had deleted the music his computer builder put in Hoster.

If you really really want to use those unused track numbers (and you've got a lot of time on your hands) You can rip your new cdg's with microstudio, name them with the track # you want them to have up to track 99, and then import as a HD CDG or BIN. Lot of work but it is an option.

Sam

However, If you select Next bookid when Importing it will pick up the bookid's you are missing, and fill in the gaps.
