A dual display graphics card allows you to have two displays, generally 1 monitor and 1 TV. The fact that you have a TV connected indicates you have one. The magic question is will yours allow you to "extend" your desktop. Right now you are in clone mode, not in extended desktop mode.If your card will permit you to extend your desktop you change it this way:Right click on your desktop (anywhere there is not an icon),Left click properties then click settings. You should see two large boxes labelled 1 & 2. Number 1 will probably be bold colored while 2 will be slightly greyed out. there should be 2 small boxes towards the bottom, one labelled "use this device as primary monitor(it should be checked), the second will say "extend my desktop to this monitor"(it should not be checked - yet).
Now go back to the top and click on the box labelled "2", it should get brighter while #1 will grey out a little. Now you should be able to click the box that reads "extend my desktop to this monitor " and then click the "apply" button and it should work.
If that doesn't work then you probably can't do it with your graphics card.
I'm typing this from memory so there may be some slight variations.

I'm not an expert on graphics card or laptops so I can't answer your other questions. Hopefully doing the above will make the other questions moot.
Good luck.
Sam

If your graphics card permits extended desktop you should be able to follow the directions above.

Trying to clarify your question. Do you mean using a Monitor instead of a TV to read the lyrics?
If so, follow the directions already given, but you need use the Monitor's cable to connect to your laptop the same as with your home computer instead of using the S-Vedio one. There should be a monitor and TV symbol in the window that was explained.
Click it to activate it instead of the TV symbol.

Smile Extending A TV

Here is a word to the wise for everyone. I posted a thread a few weeks ago about extending to a TV. I had an S- Video output on my laptop, but it was not working. I tried everything that everyone told me I needed to do, but nothing worked. I finally gave in and called my laptop company. After spending hours on the phone, I got my solution fixed. Word to the wise:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE UPDATED DRIVERS FOR YOUR VIDOE CARD.
In my case I needed to re-install and add the control panel for my ATI video card.
