Re: Dell Computer Duel display won't work
RE s-video cables, mine are 4 pin, don't have any 7 pin to try. I did have a problem with the yellow when I hooked up to sat receiver but changed to rg6 cable and it worked ok. I then plugged computer in but got the same results. No picture on the remote monitor. Does anybody know of a Dell lispiron 9300 with ATI X300 dual display card that works with Hoster?

Re: Dell Computer Duel display won't work
I checked ATI websit on this card. It doesn't say anything about duel display. It does say tv out but not duel. ATI Check it out. Click on the ATI

Re: Dell Computer Duel display won't work
Larry, thanks for the reply. I did go to the site and found this:
"Additional Features Dual integrated display controllers Dual integrated 10 bit per channel 400 MHz DACs Integrated 165 MHz TMDS transmitter (DVI 1.0 compliant / HDMI interoperable and HDCP ready) Integrated TV Output support up to 1024x768 resolution Windows® Logo Program compliant ATI Catalyst™ Software Suite " I don't know very much but I would think this indicates dual display capability. What do you think? Bob |

X300
Can I ask if you have the 64mb version or 128mb the reason I ask is that the 64mb version of the x300 is not dual display only laptop screen or TV out

![]() I have a Dell Latitude D-800 laptop and i had the same problem as you all desrcibe.
The problem seems to be the videocard and drivers not recognizing the TV/monitor/projector installed. If you get the same view on both screens like a copy of your current desktop then you need to read the manual for the video card to fix that, I know there is a way to fix it and its all located under properties for the videocard. (The driver and software package from the videocard producer has an option for selecting what is displayed on the 2'nd view.) If you do not get the video 2'nd view up at all like the problem i had, then disconnect all cables from your 2'nd TV/monitor or projector and hoock it up with a Scart adapter to PHONO plugs, and do not use the S-video mode, use the phonoplug if u have one. Then connect ONLY one screen at first, go into display properties, and first off "recognize" monitors button (in XP). Then you activate the extention of desktop, and it should be working. I had quite some problems getting this to work, and it even now sometimes fails to get extended. Then i turn off the computer, restart TV/Monitor/Projector and keep it turned ON while booting winXP then it should automaticaly detect your dualview and it should be activated when bootup is finished. If this does not work, try changing videocards, or updating the drivers. ![]() Frode Andersen Norway |
