Re: Need Multisession Help
If it says the disc is not writeable, it means that it is already burned. This part has nothing to do with the Multisession security.
Try a brand new disc and see what you get.

Re: Need Multisession Help
VIDEOMAKER,
I think you may be trying to add to a disc. This cannot be done using CDR media. Once the current material is burned, that's it. The disc is FINALIZED automatically, and cannot be added to. That's why you are getting the message you are. A CDRW disc can be added to, but not with Microstudio. Once again this is because Microstudio FINALIZES automatically. That's what you are seeing after the last track is finished burning, and a message appears something to the effect that user end is being written. A stand alone CDR/RW deck like Philips will allow burning a track or two today, and another one tomorrow, IF the disc is a CDWR, and you don't FINALIZE the disc. If it is finalized then a CDRW has to be unfinalized to add to it, which the Philips deck will do. Most cd players will not play a CDRW, which can be read on a pc. There's a catch 22 there also. An unfinalized disc from Philips will not be read in any regular cd player, or Microstudio. Also the Philips deck will not read CDG, just .WAV audio....didn't want to lead you wrong there, and have you running out to buy a home CD/CDR deck. Hope this clears up the mud regarding burning a project in more that one "session", which is what I think you were after. Foe most practical purposes it won't work. George |

Re: Need Multisession Help
George is correct. I got sidetracked about the normal Multisession questions, when it is due to the security on the discs.

Re: Need Multisession Help
Just want to say thanks for your informative replies.
I kind of figured I was getting that message because it does not allow multisessions. It was just that I thought I once read somewhere that Micro Studio let you do that, and that was why I asked. Thanks again for all your help. Videomaker ![]() |
