Re: laptop robbed

Hello disco dave,
By all means invest in Hoster, it really is worth it, but if you then get robbed again you've not only lost your computer but all the software on it.
So besides all sorts of problems with theft, crashes, corrupted files etc, you will have the problems of re-registering Hoster, as you will need to import it onto a new computer.
I am sure that MTU look more kindly on people who suffer these setbacks, but there really is a massive need to make back-ups to all your software, preferably on a separate computer, or at least another hard disc.
I am not just thinking of the software needed to run a programme but also the vast amount of files you will import into that programme, especially with one like Hoster.
I only play gigs with my portable but all the necessary work is done on another computer.
The one main problem with a laptop or shuttle is that they are much easier to steal than a desktop. or normal karaoke setups, and in England software is not covered for theft, by the insurance companies.
Regards from across the pond.
Garry
