Re: Write Error On Kma Files

let me ask the obvious first. Are you using a Hoster compatable CDG writer/player? Do you have the latest drivers for it?

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

What do you see when you go to the Playlist and setup a new Playlist. Click to add the .kma files to this, and let me know what happens.

It sounds to me like you might have 2 problems.

The first is if the playlist test, as described above gives you a Red Error when trying to play a song, then this means that you must Rebuild your Database, that you have moved your .kma files from where the database was last built.

If you are having a problem trying to import the .kma files, make sure that the Save to Folder is set to your Hard drive, such as C:\Hoster Songs. If this is set to your Hard drive, then you might need to make sure that you are not out of Hard drive space on your Hard drive.

If you have this folder set to a CD drive, then it would give you an error such as this.

Dave I have 2 drives one is external and both are current with drivers and to make the problem worse I just find out that wma and cdg-3 files work with hoster what doesn't work are kma and cdg. What I also did I reinstalled my media player thinking it may be a problem with the wma driver or plug in but no luck!

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

RESPONDIG TO BRYANS QUESTIONS

*My list appears just as normal and I can add any file in my KMA WMA MP3-G data base.
*Let me remind you that I have Hoster on a lop top also, and my files are in a external hard drive and they work just fine I've done numerous rebuilt data base on my desktop but no luck, yes i still get the red error messege
*This is strange when i finish doing data base rebuilt the error changes to
WRITE ERRO ON WMA. Yet then I pull from the audio tab a wma file ofcurse with no lirics and plays just fine.
*An by the way my hard drive still has 30gigabites free
*The way I've been importing is using my laptop pc and the same external hard drive. Also when I move it to my Desk top I always run a rebuilt data base.

I Have a PLextor cd writer and a external PLextor dvd rw and both work fine when I Import using HOSTER on my lap top computer.

This are the errors that I get:

WRITE ERROR ON KMA then if i do database rebuilt will change to:
WRITE ERROR ON WMA Then if I play a WMA file from the audio tab it will play fine

I'd like to add that my MP3 don't play but MP3-G does

Yes some times the letter changes cause i have lots of external devices but still works, i just built database right there.
Beavis look if importing was the main problem, probably I wouldn't have made this threat a big deal, Because I can import them with same external hard drive and external dvd rw on my lap top
the worse thing is that I can't play KMA FILES OR MP3
IT'S KIND PF CONTROVERTIAL BECAUSE IT WILL PLAY:
WMA, MP3-G FILES

SORRY GUYS WHEN I POSTED THE PROBLEM I STATED THAT WMA WASN'T WORKING. IT'S JUST THAT OUT OF 3 MONTHS OF TRUSTATION I JUST WANTED TO GET A MESSEGE UP ON THE BOARD. BUT AS STATED HERE IT DOES WORK AS WELL AS MP3-G THANK YOU GUYS FOR YOUR HELP.

LAST TIME I REMENBER MY HOSTER WORKING WAS PRETTY MUCH UNTIL A PROGRAM CALL NERO MIX WISH SELF ASOCIATED MOST OF THE EXTENTION FILES LIKE WMA, MP3, WAV, AUD, ETC. THEN ONE DAY I SPOKE TO DAVE, OR BRYAN CAN'T REMEMBER BUT HE TOLD ME TO REINSTAL MY MEDIA PLAYER WISH I DID AND ALSO UPDATED IT, NO HAVING MUCH SUCCESS LATER I TRY REINSTALING THE NERO MIX AND THE RESULTS WERE THE ERROR MESSEGE SWITCH FROM "ERROR WRITING KMA" TO "ERROR WRITING WMA" I HOPE THIS KIND OF INFO MY GIVE YOU GUYS A BIT MORE OF A CLUE . NEXT I WILL BE TRYING FOR SECONT TIME TO REINSTALL HOSTER SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!!!!PEACE!!!!

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

ya see thats the problem. you shouldnt install hoster on any old computer laying around the house. i bet there is more junk you dont even know about on that computer.

hoster should only be installed on a computer thats for karaoke. especially if your using it in a commercial atmosphere.

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

It will work with Nero Mix, because I have this installed on my Laptop, but you may try uninstalling this on your Desktop and see what happens, since this seems to be when the problem started.

Other than this, as Beavis stated, you might have to reformat to fix it on this computer.

Yes I agree it works fine but,
if I'm not wrong it might it happended when the trial version of nero mix expired. But as I try different things like reinstalling media player plus updates the error messege whould only change from "write error on kma" to "write error on wma " . Then recently I end up geting the full version of nero mix thinking it would probably correct the problem with my Hoster. NO luck but I'm going try uninstalling media player nero mix and my Hoster then I'm going to reinstal my media player then my Hoster. The only thing I'm afraid is not to be able to unistall the programs compleatly. How do you sujest I should do this??

oh please guys I want to try to avoid having to do that, please is there any other way. Remember this is not my working pc this is my home pc that we are talking about i've a lot of programs that my kids use and I think that I would go as far as doing a retore 5 months ago and that's is. Or get rid off one of my two hard drives then replace it with a new one and reistall windows and make it the primary drive, some thing like that. PLease more ideas before I have to do something drastic guys

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

what they are trying to tell you is that some reg keys are left behind
and that even if you new where and what they were manual removal is riskier then re formatting the only problem is that it takes a while

if you know your way around a computer I would go for formatting the unit
but if you don't take it to some place that does
if you don't get a good install from the start you will have to do it all over again

I do this for a living and once in a while I come across a unit that we have had to re install 3 times before it took a good install

good luck on what ever you do

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

just buy a new hard drive, install windows on it. then use your old hard drive as a slave on that computer. you wont lose any info. you might have to re-install the programs you like. but at least you wont lose all your info thats on your computer now.

make sure you go get all updates before installing hoster.
