oh please guys I want to try to avoid having to do that, please is there any other way. Remember this is not my working pc this is my home pc that we are talking about i've a lot of programs that my kids use and I think that I would go as far as doing a retore 5 months ago and that's is. Or get rid off one of my two hard drives then replace it with a new one and reistall windows and make it the primary drive, some thing like that. PLease more ideas before I have to do something drastic guys

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

what they are trying to tell you is that some reg keys are left behind
and that even if you new where and what they were manual removal is riskier then re formatting the only problem is that it takes a while

if you know your way around a computer I would go for formatting the unit
but if you don't take it to some place that does
if you don't get a good install from the start you will have to do it all over again

I do this for a living and once in a while I come across a unit that we have had to re install 3 times before it took a good install

good luck on what ever you do

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

just buy a new hard drive, install windows on it. then use your old hard drive as a slave on that computer. you wont lose any info. you might have to re-install the programs you like. but at least you wont lose all your info thats on your computer now.

make sure you go get all updates before installing hoster.

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

thats fine if its a desk top
if it is a laptop then it is a diff story

and why send the money ??

just save your info and burn it to cd or save it to a nother unit

you are going to have to reinstall the programs anyway and you are going to spend more time installing the new hard drive

if the drive is good why replace it ???

Re: Write Error On Kma Files

it all comes too light now the answers is kids
if they can get on the internet that is most likely the problem
they have been some were and ill bet you I would start looking for a virus
or a back door program that have downloaded and they did not even know it

if this is the case the best thing you can do is to reformat
I have one bit of advice for you if you are going to but hoster on this keep the kids off the internet and if you can afford it buy the kids one of those $399/$499 dells it the long run you will save your self a lot of time and money

you don't know how many units I have had to reformat because of some ones jr on the internet

I hate to say it but children have made techs a lot of money because of were they go on the internet

anyway good luck on what ever you do
