Re: One last video question - I am stumped

Try going into the Device Manager and selecting the Video card and see if there is a problem reported.

Have you down loaded and Device Updates from Microsoft? If not have you down loaded any updates from then right before the screen went out?

You can go to the Manufacture web site and see if there are updates for the card as well.

Since it starts out correctly when Windows boots have you tried to change the resolution on the screen? You may have changed that to one that it does not support.

Just some thoughts.

Re: One last video question - I am stumped

Some things to look for:

Set the right Video Settings on the TV, Video 1, Video 2 ------
Check the computer Display settings make sure it is on Multiple settings. It may read
"1 (Multiple Monitors) on MOBILITY RADEON 9000"
Click the arrow to see if there may be other choices to choose from, try another choice.
Look in the Advance/Display window. See if the PC is set as No1 and the TV is set to No2.
Click on the Display/Scheme there may be other settings to choose from.

I found that it is a little tricky to understand and set. I would like to use it as single display at times, but do not want to disturb the dual settings. even though I can use Ctrl/F5 to switch, I think.

Re: One last video question - I am stumped

Thanks all for all of your help.

It's a real ATI card from MTU. I have the latest drivers from ATI for it.

I don't "think" the card is bad, but I could be wrong. When I change the TV to primary, I can see the computer display there.

Everything works except the lyrics from Hoster.

I will try some of these suggestions. Just got home from being out of town, so sorry I could not respond sooner.

It really has me stumped.

I'm thinking there is something set in there that shouldn't be set that way, but I can't track it down.

Worst case, I'll go get a new card and install it. But, I don't think it's the problem.

It started not working the minute I loaded Hoster 3.000. Then, when I went back to 2.219, I still didn't work.

Probably just a coincidence, but I had a lot of wierd things happen with the PC shortly after that.

Almost with I could have someone look at it via remote assistance.

Thanks folks, you are the best.

Back to debugging.

Before you make an investment in a new card, in Device manager click Display adapters and see if the Card adapter's icon is yellow. If so it means you have to install it again. If no conflicts are found, I would think it is in the settings not the card. Take it to a computer specialist if you can't set it yourself.

No conflicts.

One thing I did do just now.

I went through the directdraw tests on the Display 2, and they all checked out fine on my secondary monitor.

That pretty much rules out a bad card, and narrows it down to settings that effect Hoster, I believe.
